Two Peas and Their Pod

Chocolate Chip Waffles

First of all, thanks everyone for your congratulations on our big news! We are very excited! Now, we can decide on a name and work on the nursery. Hopefully the next 20 weeks will go quickly:) Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, especially when chocolate is involved. We recently made Chocolate Chip Waffles for a weekend breakfast treat and I can’t stop thinking about them.

We found this chocolate chip waffle recipe on Tasty Kitchen. It comes from the lovely Robyn, who blogs at Add a Pinch. I love her site, so I knew these waffles were going to be divine. The waffles are perfect-light, fluffy, with a slight crisp. The waffles would be delicious without the chocolate chips, but why not go all out? The chocolate chips take the waffles to a whole new level. If you aren’t into sweets for breakfast, you can always serve these waffles for dessert. I think I will add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to mine next time:)

I’ve been seeing so many waffle posts lately that I’m having a very difficult time resisting the purchase of a waffle iron!

I’m going to go look in my cabinets now and remind myself that I have no more room! 😉

Now I’m kicking myself for selling my waffle iron! Enjoy your last half of pregnancy-that’s when it became fun for me. All those little bumps and rolls you feel-so cool.

Oh yum, I love adding chocolate chips to my pancakes but have never thought to include them in waffles. I’m envious of your ability to cook such perfect waffles – mine are always unevenly baked.
