French Bread Pizza

French Bread Pizza

Josh was begging for pizza AGAIN, he never gets sick of it. I was not in a creative or cooking mood, so I let him take charge in the kitchen.

He decided to make French Bread Pizza. This has to be the easiest meal ever! We bought a loaf of french bread from our local market. I recommend buying a big fat loaf instead of a little french baguette. The baguettes are a little too crusty and chewy for pizza!

We cut the loaf in half lengthwise and then into four portions. We tore some of the bread out of the middle so the pizza wouldn’t be too bready! Then we toasted them under the broiler for a couple of minutes. While the bread was still warm, we took a fresh garlic clove and rubbed the bread down. I love this trick. It really add

s a lot of garlic flavor.

Luckily, we had leftover homemade pizza sauce in the freezer, so we used that for the first layer. Josh piled on the pepperoni for his pizza, but I stuck with lots of fresh veggies. We topped the bread with some mozzarella cheese too!! We baked them in the oven for about 15 minutes!

I actually liked this meal. It was quick and easy…and I liked the nice crunch of the bread. It was fun trying a different type of pizza!

French Bread Pizza

1 loaf of French bread
1 clove of garlic
Pizza sauce, of your choice
Pepperoni
Veggies
Mozzerella cheese
Italian seasoning

1. Slice the loaf of French bread in half, lengthwise. Then cut it into four pieces. Tear out some of the bread so the pizza isn’t too bready:)
2. Place the bread on a cookie sheet and put it under the broiler for about 4-5 minutes.
3. Take the garlic clove and rub it all over the bread. This will add a nice garlic flavor.
4. Spread your sauce on all four pieces of bread.
5. Next, add your toppings. Josh used pepperoni, I used veggies.
6. Cover with cheese and Italian seasoning if you wish.
7. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10-15 minutes, just until the cheese melts.

My favorite vacation spot is Bear Lake. Boring I know but it reminds me of my grandparents because they have beach front property up there and I spent every summer growing up getting fried on the beach.

My favorite vacation spot is Springdale, UT….a small little town outside of Zion National Park. I grew up visiting my grandparents there when I was little. It was the perfect spot for kids to explore, have adventures, enjoy the simple life, and have fun. Zion is full of beauty and fun family hikes. I can’t wait for my kids to love it as much as I do!

Hawaii is probably my favorite vacation spot. When I went, I thought “how much better can this be that some of the other amazing tropical places we’ve been?” But it was — there is just something magical about the place.

OOH! Pick me, please! That bag would be perfect for me to use to pick up my co-op produce basket! I LOVE this meal, but never thought to rub garlic on it! And I will also pull out some bread in the middle next time! Good suggestion! My favorite vacation spot is Tahiti, hands down! We went there for our honeymoon and are dying to go back for our 10th anniversary…2 more years! Time to save up! :o ) I love this blog! Keep up the good work!

Fun pizza idea when you don’t feel like making dough! My fav vacation spot would have to be Las Ventanas in Cabo, Mexico. It is the most amazing resort where they wait on you hand and foot. It’s a splurge, but totally worth it! Hubby and I have traveled to lots of amazing places, but this resort is the best for relaxation.

Mmm, those pizzas look delicious! At my apt, we never tire of pizza either! It’s so funny: my pizza would be the one with veggies on it, just like yours. But Todd would totally be the pepperoni guy. Is this a guy/girl thing?

As for my favorite vacation spot: when I was little, we used to go to Hilton Head, SC, and I always loved it (super easy get away). However, if I want a super awesome vacation, I’d have to say London. I love everything about that city!

My favorite vacation spot has to be my bed…with a good book, a good movie and all the chocolate I can dream of. I know it's lousy, but I love my time alone to do whatever I want (as in watching movies and eating m&m's) no mommy or wife duties.

That’s a great idea! My three would get to make their pizza how ever they like it, no complaints. I bet it would work well with day old bread too as you’re baking it anyway.

Sanibel Island is one of my fave vacations spots.

Excellent pizzas. I remember when I was in grade school/middle school it became the in thing to make pizzas out of everything. French bread pizza was big. So were english muffin pizzas.

My favorite vacation destination is Chincoteague Island in Virgina. Sure I’ve been to more exotic places and more sophisticated places, but nothing compares to Chincoteague in terms of a relaxing vacation. You’re there for a day and you forget what stress is. The natives are friendly. The endless stretches of blue water are beautiful. The beaches of Assateague are unspoiled. For the shoppers there are all kinds of artists and artisan shops to choose from. For the outdoor enthusiasts there is biking, walking, swimming, kayaking and canoeing, and some of the best bird watching imaginable.

Best of all are the ponies. Watching the wild ponies swim the channel every summer never gets old for me. I’m like a little kid at Pony Penning time. I’m happy I have a little piece of Chincoteague (my pony Riddle) at home.

My favorite vacation spot is actually my aunt and uncles house. They own a large piece of property in Norther California (near Redding) and it is so much fun. The beauty of the mountains and all of the wildlife. There are tons of great hikes around there.
