Every year (well, this is the 4th year) I sew something for my nieces and nephews (up to 6 now), my three Finnish ‘nieces’ (the daughters of my friend in Finland), my friends two sons (who I also used to provide daycare for), as well as my own daughter and son. 13 total!
It’s a big job, but I love creating something with my own hands that I know they won’t be getting from someone else
And I LOVE to pick out different fabric for each child. The first year I sewed a set of 10 bean bags with a carrying bag, then book bags for the library (or any number of other uses), pillow cases, and this year aprons!

I give the Grandpartents of the family Shutterfly books every Christmas. They all know they are getting one and they pour over them as soon as they get it. The best thing my boys love to look at them everytime they go there.
