Fruitcake cookies! My Great Aunt Dora had a secret recipe that made all of us fight over them they were so good. She had no children of her own, so she spoiled us…we lived next door and ate over there all the time. After she developed Alzheimer’s disease, my mom found her recipe and made them a few times. My mom never did as well, but they were still good. Since my mom has been sick we have not had them. There was a lady who went to church with us who made me some. She made a good try, but they still were not like Aunt Dora’s. Sadly, the lady in my church passed away of a stroke. It has been over eight years since I have had a fruitcake cookie, but I would really like to have one right now.
