Quaker Heart Healthy Giveaway

Quaker Heart Healthy Giveaway

I’ve always been a huge Quaker fan. It is no secret that I eat oatmeal for breakfast every morning. I love Quaker’s products, but I also love that they are actively involved in preventing heart disease.  February is American Heart Month and Quaker wants to help Americans understand that being amazing starts with taking care of your heart. Starting your day with a healthy breakfast, daily exercise, and eating heart healthy snacks all help build a healthy heart.

During the month of February, Quaker is donating $1 to the American Heart Association for each of Quaker’s current Facebook fans as of February 1st and each new person who “likes” the QuakerFacebook page during the month of February (up to $250,000). These dollars will benefit the AHA’s new program My Heart. My Life., which helps bring healthy cooking curriculum to after-school organizations across the country.

In addition, Quaker will donate $1, up to $125,000, for each new Facebook “like.” Visit www.Facebook.com/Quaker to find out how healthy your heart is using the Everyday Health Healthy-Heart Checkup Quiz, plus get recipes and expert tips to help you make the best nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle choices. Go check it out now!

If you are looking for heart healthy recipes, here are a few of my favorites:

Apple Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal
Mushroom Barley Soup
Pumpkin Granola
Rosemary Roasted Almonds
Banana Berry Oatmeal

And now for a fun, heart healthy giveaway! One lucky winner will receive Quaker’s Amazing Heart kit, which includes Quaker oatmeal bowl and products, a yoga mat, Dr. Nieca Goldberg’s Complete Guide to Women’s Health, Quaker Oats heart-healthy recipes and a heart rate monitor. (ARV: $250).

For a chance to enter and win, please leave a comment on this post letting me know what you do to keep your heart healthy.

I workout 6 days a week, eat only whole grains and make sure to get in at least 10 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. And I would love a new yoga mat. :)

I cook healthy meals with healthy ingredients. I try to stay away from anything processed/artificial and in an effort to do so, only try to buy ingredients that have a shelf life of less than 2 weeks. That means – LOTS of fruits and veggies!

My husband is a marathon runner and eats oatmeal every morning! As a result, he has an appetite like you wouldn’t believe!
I spin 4 times a week as well as running and doing zumba + pilates.

It is important to stay active and eat healthy. Thank you Maria for this wonderful giveaway!

Great giveaway! I have what my doctor calls “remarkably low” cholesterol and I attribute that to good genes, plenty of exercise, and of course, lots of oatmeal :)
