1. MRSA, I have it. Major bummer. Somehow I was infected with community acquired methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus on my knee. This past week has been pretty rough, both physically and emotionally. Possibly the hardest ever. I go to the doctor today and hopefully I can stop the IV antibiotics and have no more issues with this stuff. I know I still have a long road of oral antibiotics but hopefully I will have no lingering effects of this nasty stuff.

2. In other news, thank goodness for family. Maria’s dad, stepmom, and my brother were in town visiting and were a HUGE help.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear your news, Josh! I know exactly what it is and how extremely serious it is. Wishing you the best!

  2. You mean MRSA. Unfortunately it has a tendency to come back, and there are ways to treat it without antibiotics, which have horrendous effect on the entire immune system. EarthclinicdotCom has hundreds of suggestions. Once you get rid off it, before it comes back you have to eliminate all the processed foods, all canola and vegetable oils, all sugars and starches and eat organic as much as you can. Extra huge dosage of vitamin C, turmeric and garlic/ allicin, tea tree oil (never orally) are the things that work, antibiotics should be the very very last resort. Good luck

  3. I’m getting the gold iPhone so you should too, Maria 🙂 hehe – I think you should make the quinoa bowl for sure! xoxo – hope you hear good news, Josh!

  4. I am so sorry to hear about Josh and the MRSA. I just met a woman the other day at my mammogram appointment who also contracted MRSA during her surgery. She told me she had a hard time healing after that experience. She ended up having Hyperbaric Treatments: 40 sessions, each session lasted 90 minutes. She could not say enough positive things about the treatment and how well it worked. I live in Ontario, Canada and I do not know if this treatment option is available near you, but you might want to research it. I wish you all the Best!

  5. Josh! My husband follows apple rumors and announcements like it’s his job. I am excited for a new phone but even the smaller of the two phones is pretty big. My husband and I are both getting the new iPhone 6!! He will get black and I will get white 🙂

  6. I am sorry you and Josh have MRSA. I will keep you both in my prayers and hope you feel better and heal sooner than later. As for that baby Maxwell, goodness he is a cute little guy. You want to just snuggle him. So precious. Hope Caleb is doing well and liking his new brother.

  7. oh no! My SIL had MRSA- hope Josh gets through it quickly! And I hope you guys get some extra rest this weekend. YES- pumpkin!

  8. Sorry to hear about Josh – hope you mend soon! I am OBSESSED with getting the iPhone 6! Usually I get my husband’s hand-me-down iPhones, but this year the 6 is MINE!!

  9. I hope Josh feels better soon! Maxwell is adorable. Looking forward to your pumpkin recipes. I really want to make those cinnamon rolls!

  10. Sorry to hear you have staph infection. Hope it goes away and never comes back! Strong immune system and good organic eating holds the cure. ☺

  11. I acquired an MRSA with a Total Knee replacement surgery. It took 3 additional surgeries over 7 months as well as 2 separate IV antibiotic treatments twice a day for 6 weeks each before it was gone. Hopefully it will never return. I need the other knee replaced but it will be many years before I am willing to go through that again. I hope you have an easier time and are done with the infection. It seems like this is happening much more often than it should these days.

  12. What a nightmare and how scary with babies in the house. SO sorry friends. Good vibes, thoughts and prayers your way!

  13. I am a little late seeing this…just saw your post from today and that you had mentioned the MRSA. So sorry! I am sure it was stressful in only a way that you guys understand- but know that I am thinking of you guys and will keep you in my prayers. It is amazing how we are given families to be tried to our fullest (in some situations) but also to have a fullness of joy. I think that kind of true, deep, real joy doesn’t come without those kinds of trials. Know what I mean? The two go hand in hand I am certain. 🙂 Hang in there.
