Today is our 4 year wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary to us! I think we are supposed to get each other fruit or flowers. At least that is what the internet told me:) Good thing we just bought a giant watermelon:) We celebrate our love and marriage every day so we don’t have any special plans for today. We just love being together with our little pea! Cheers to 4 years!
Ok, now on to This and That. Enjoy!
His
1. Maria and I don’t watch much TV. Although, we do rent movies. Let me give you an example of how these nights go. We lay down on the couch to watch the movie and almost immediately Maria is complaining that it’s too loud. She wants me to turn the sound down to almost a mute level. I don’t think she plans on watching the movies because she never stays awake for more than 20 minutes. We basically rent movies for Maria to sleep through and for me to watch on mute. This week “we”, meaning I, watched Man on a Ledge. I liked it, at least what I could put together without hearing.
2. I have been training for a triathlon and I am on a 30 day training program. This is NOT recommended and my 35 year old, almost decrepit body, has been paying the price. I could barely walk yesterday. But I’m going to do this. I will let you know if I am still alive after June 30. I just got this thing called “The Stick.” It has been pretty good on helping my leg muscles.
3. While in Seattle, I was able to spend 120 straight hours with my little buddy, Caleb. He is so awesome! We ha a great time and it was hard for me to go back to work this week. Caleb is one righteous dude!

1. My baking drawer is a little out of control. Ok, it’s a complete disaster. I think I need to do some organizing this weekend.
2. So remember that book I was going to read on the plane? Yeah, I never even opened it. Traveling with a baby is a lot different.
3. My grandma and dad have a few hand written recipes that I need to preserve. I love this DIY tutorial for framing recipes.
4. I can’t get enough of these cookies. I made another batch this week and put them in the freezer. I love eating them frozen-who needs popsicles when you have frozen cookies? 🙂
5. Love these Watermelon and Feta Bites. Going to make them this weekend.
6. We are shopping for a baby trailer for our bikes. Any recommendations? We need to get one ASAP so Caleb can go on some summer bike rides!
7. Oh-and it’s Father’s Day on Sunday. Don’t forget to spoil your dad! Caleb and I will be making Josh one of his favorite breakfasts-Cinnamon Streusel Pancakes!
Happy Anniversary and I know the feeling about the movies. SNOOZE almost instantly. hahaha
Congrats you guys on 4 years of marriage.
Happy Anniversary!
Happy anniversary! You are such a darling family.
Enjoy the watermelon feta bites – I hope you like them!
P.S. My baking drawer looks like that too… fine it’s my whole pantry that looks like that 🙂
We have the Croozer and love it! It’s bike trailer, jogger, and regular stroller. Plus it has extra room for storage. Our son is 12 months and loves riding around. Thanks for all the great recipes!
Thanks!
Happy, Happy Anniversary! <3
Whoa, your anniversary is the day after mine (which is also my sil’s anniversary). Happy Anniversary! Glad you get to share it with Caleb and a giant watermelon 🙂
Your wedding dress was absolutely GORGEOUS! I love everything about it! Happy anniversary 🙂
My sis-in-law has the Chariot and I’ve used it a couple times. It’s seriously nice because you can not only use it for biking, but just to push as an exercise stroller. There is enough room for two in there, which is also a bonus! 😉
You guys are such a fantastic couple–happy anniversary! And I love THIS and THAT posts!
Happy anniversary!!!! love you guys!
We have a burley bike trailer. Caleb may be too young, but it’s awesome. This summer we’re all on bikes, but I may still use it to cart all of our stuff to the beach.
We own a Bell bicycle trailer and LOVE it. It easily converts into a stroller, and is rated to carry up to 100 pounds. When our son was younger, he referred to it as the “Bicycle Dump Truck”. My husband hitched it onto the back of his bike. It has a safety latch, should the main part ever come detached from the bike. Most of the time, however, we used it as a stroller for long walks around our neighborhood. My son could bring along his blankie, a stuffed animal, and snacks, and not feel the least bit crowded in it! We got the Bell for a STEAL one day at Toys R Us. My husband asked if they had any more in the back, and an associate literally found it hanging in the rafters. It pays to ask for clearance items!
Thanks for the recommendation! I hope we can find a good deal:)
Happy Anniversary! What a beautiful wedding picture… I love your dress. 🙂
To Josh: I fall asleep in the middle of movies too and so my boyfriend has taken to watching movies on “mute” with subtitles (even for American movies), but now, he found out something that worked even better: headphones!
My friends, who are serious bikers and have a 2 yr. old, just got one of these trailers from Weehoo. They really like it and said it even holds up for their 8 yr. old. http://www.weehoobicycletrailer.com/
Thanks for sharing the link!
Congratulations on your anniversary! 😀 Such a happy time!
Happy Anniversary! My husband definitely likes the TV much louder than I do also. I blame all his rock concerts from his younger days. And I always fall asleep during movies too. Almost without fail. That never happened before I had kids.
We have a Schwinn bike trailer. It seats two kids, and has a small cargo area in the back. It retails for about $120, but is a more comfortable ride, according to our son than the rather pricey Burley we used to have. It also comes with a conversion wheel so that you can use it as a stroller when you reach your destination. We love it!
Thanks for the recommendation!!
I recommend this trailer – http://www.rei.com/product/831599/chariot-carriers-cougar-1-stroller-trailer-chassis-2012
REI has the best stuff!

Your baking drawer looks an awful lot like mine. We need help.
Happy Anniversary!!!!
Love the blog and post. I have read your “airplane” book and loved it. I think there is a sequel.
Happy Anniversary!
I am going to try and still read it:)
Congrats guys!! And Josh, the stick is amazing! I’ve had mine for going on 14 years (wow, that ages me!) and besides for my stretching rope I think it’s the best thing ever!
Glad you like the stick!
Happy Anniversary! Those Cinnamon Streusel Pancakes sound like a delicious Father’s Day treat!
Those cinnamon struesel pancakes look to die for! So delish! Love Caleb in those glasses 🙂
Happy Anniversay… my husband and I are celebrating 4year today as well…Great day..June 14, 2008!!!
Happy anniversary!! What a beautiful wedding photo 🙂
Happy anniversary you two!! You’re absolutely adorable together!
Happy anniversary! Congratulations on four years of happy marriage. 🙂
We bought a cheap trailer at a garage sale and used it into the ground. After that I researched a TON and we bought a Burley last year. It is AWESOME. Seriously, the kids love the comfort (they started complaining with the old one), it easily fits two and has some extra storage options that we have loved. We got one that is a jogger and a bike trailer. It is totally worth the money to get one and definitly get something that fits two. Good luck!
Thanks for the recommendation Britt! We still need to get together!
Instead of a bike trailer, have you considered a WeeRide Kangaroo Bike Seat? I’ve heard they are perfect for families with one child since he gets to be right in on the action. http://www.weeride.com/Kangaroo-Center-Mounted-Child-Bicycle-Carrier
I’m really enjoying this series. Such fun personalities shining through.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY you two! LOL on the movie thing. Good luck on the training!
Wow, those frames are an awesome idea. i love it!
Happy anniversary! I love the idea of framing recipes. Utilitarian and decorative all in one 🙂
Happy Anniversary!!
Happy (belated) anniversary!
We have a Chariot bike trailer and love it. Our boys are big enough to ride their own bikes now but they spent many hours in it when they were little. We used the stroller attachment a lot too. The kids are totally protected from the weather while riding. You can also get a cross country ski attachment so it is very versatile. I love your blog! We are vegetarian so your recipes are great for us. I also like to bake so your cookie recipes are wonderful! Keep up the great work!
