Drop Biscuits with BACON and Cheese

Our drop buttermilk biscuits are our favorite, but I decided to mix things up! I added bacon and cheddar cheese and WOW!!! Such a great combo for buttery biscuits.

They are great plain or with your favorite soup, chili, salad, mac and cheese, easy skillet chicken thighs…or any dish!

Easy Drop Biscuits

By definition, drop biscuits are easy to make.  You make them and drop them on the pan to bake. You don’t have to worry about rolling out the dough or cutting the biscuits, which is nice. And if want to really want to make this version of drop biscuits easy, you can buy pre-cooked bacon.

These bacon cheddar biscuits will put on a smile on any bacon lovers face. They are loaded with cheddar cheese, green onions, and bacon. What’s not to love? Make homemade drop biscuits to go with your meal tonight.

Bacon Cheddar Drop Biscuits

Easy drop biscuits with bacon and cheddar cheese. A great side dish to any meal!

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spay and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix in cold butter with your fingertips until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in Cheddar cheese, green onions, and bacon. Add buttermilk and stir with a spatula until just combined.
  • Drop round spoonfuls of dough, about three tablespoons, onto prepared baking sheet. Brush biscuits with melted butter. Bake 12-17 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Remove from oven and serve warm.

  6. I tried these last night and they turned out very very good. The biscuits baked up light and fluffy and were very flavorful. I actually used one this morning to make a breakfast sandwich with some scrambled eggs and bacon. Next time I might try a blend of cheeses and see how that works.

    it might be my oven but 450 for 15 minutes burnt the bottoms so I think I’ll try for 425 the next time but the flavor was very good
