Pasta Salad – a Summer Must-Have

A few weeks ago, I asked on Instagram stories what recipes you wanted to see on the blog this summer. Pasta salad was hands down the number one answer. I was pretty pumped about that because I love a good cold and creamy pasta salad. Pasta salads are a summer staple. They are great for easy lunches and dinners and perfect for taking to summer barbecues, picnics, and pool parties.

Today, I have the perfect summer pasta salad recipe for you, Creamy Greek Pasta Salad. Whenever I need to take a side dish to a potluck, I usually make this easy Greek pasta salad because I want to eat it and it is always a hit with our friends and family.

Greek flavors are my favorite. Pasta Salad with Feta? Yes, please. If you read our blog regularly, you know I love and make Greek everything:

You really can’t go wrong with Greek, especially this Creamy Greek Pasta Salad. It has all of my favorite Greek flavors with pasta and a simple creamy dressing.

Creamy Pasta Salad with Feta

Greek Pasta Salad Made with…Greek Yogurt!

I love this easy creamy dressing because it is made without mayonnaise. A lot of summer pasta salads are loaded with mayo or sour cream, but this dressing is made with plain Greek yogurt. The dressing is light and I love the boost of protein from the Greek yogurt. I add fresh lemon juice, red wine vinegar, garlic, dill, and oregano to the Greek yogurt, making it an amazing (and appropriate) dressing for this Greek Pasta Salad.

How to Make Greek Pasta Salad

I use whole wheat pasta and added in tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, red onion, and my favorite, feta cheese. I toss everything in the creamy Greek yogurt dressing and serve the pasta salad cold. It can be made in advance, which is awesome. I usually make it in the morning and put it in the fridge until we are ready to take it to a party or sometimes I just make it for us. It makes a great, easy summer meal!

  1. Very, very nice guys! This looks incredible and perfect for this time of year – even though it’s pretty miserable here in the UK right now. I might make this today to brighten up my day. Love the videos you’ve been creating too guys.

  2. I love that you use Greek yogurt as I am not a huge mayo fan. Yet another one of your salads I will be making!!  As far as what recipes is like to see, it would be salads with a protein like steak, chicken or even pork.  Thanks and Go Dubs!!!

  3. I can’t wait to make this! Our family loves pasta salad. It looks delicious!

First let me say that your recipes are always a hit at my house.  That being said, I made this two hours before my book club and by the time I got there it was completely dried out. I tried adding olive oil to wet it a little but there was no saving it . I’m thinking if I double dressing that might have worked. Just FYI. Keep making awesome recipes though.

    1. If you are waiting to serve the pasta salad, you can add more dressing and toss again right before serving.

  5. I am planning to make this for my book club potluck dinner next week so good to know–will definitely increase the dressing. Thanks!

    1. If you are waiting to serve it, you can add some extra dressing right before serving and stir. Enjoy and have fun at your book club!

Thank you! I made this tonight and it was delicious! I especially liked the dill

I halved the recipe and the ratios seemed great. Only thing I added was a little bit of yellow and orange peppers. About 1/4 of a pepper each.

  7. Hi, I have a question for you .what can you use instead red wine vinegar my daughter is  allergic to it?

This was yummy and super easy. I was looking for a good dressing recipe that was creamy and not mayo based. I’d recommend saving some dressing to add the night before you eat because it can dry out. I added green beans, green bell pepper, cucumbers, black olives and tomatoes since that’s what I had. I also used some of the dressing for potato salad with celery and that was amazing! I hope you don’t mind the suggestion but I’d recommend anyone try that too it was so good! Thanks for a great recipe.

I was looking for a creamy pasta salad for the hot days, it gets REALLY hot here in Las Vegas, that had all the flavors that I love without so much fat. When I made this and tried it, I was in heaven. I LOVE flavors like Dill Weed, Tartness of Yogurt, Red Wine Vinegar and who doesn’t love an Olive!!

This is my go to for pasta salad and I also like to make it for when I want a few days meat free, it’s great as a meal not just a side.

Nice base recipe. I made it EXACTLY as written except no olives. I PERSONALLY found the red wine vinegar to be too strong. I may just use 1/3 next time. I would add maybe 50% more yogurt next time as I like it pretty saucy. 4 star recipe, deducting another for the 9 BILLION pop up ads on this site. For that alone I will not be returning here. Too bad.

  11. This recipe is IMPOSSIBLE to view on a smart phone. I really wanted this recipe so I went to my computer. Otherwise I was really frustrated by pop up videos I couldn’t avoid. Hope this is good!

I cannot believe how incredible the flavors are in this pasta salad. I was looking for a pasta salad recipe to use up an abundance of grape tomatoes and cucumbers and I can’t stomach one more italian style pasta salad recipe, mainly because I’ve been making it for every event for the past 10 years haha. I wanted something creamy, but not mayo laden and holy smokes, this hit it out of the park!!!! Here in Connecticut, one of the most sought after dressings at area restaurants is creamy garlic. All the restaurants try to outdo one another to the extent that if we’re ordering out at work it’s not uncommon to hear someone say “their creamy garlic is just ok so let’s order from somewhere else” because it really matters, haha. Anyway, this dressing tastes very similar to one of my favorite restaurants creamy garlic dressings!! I’m absolutely thrilled not only because the pasta salad is a total keeper, but now I can make my new favorite dressing all the time and show off (but not take credit for!) to family and friends. The ONLY thing I did differently was use fresh dill instead of dried because I actually had it on hand for once. Thanks again!!!!! My husband and three year old daughter went bananas for it as well.

This was really good- I did add a little extra Greek yogurt, maybe a 1/4 cup extra. Turned out really yummy with our sandwiches tonight and I look forward to having leftovers for lunch this week!
