Snapfish Photo Books

I take a lot of pictures, but I am not much of a “scrapbooker.” I tried the scrapbooking thing when I was in college, but I never had enough time to keep up. Plus, I am not very good at cutting out shapes and decorating pages. I can create pretty cookies, but that is about it. I am not crafty! My photos are important to me and I do want them saved in an orderly manner. That is why I love Snapfish’s Photo Books-they make it easy to create personal photo books without getting out the glue or pretty scrapbook paper:)

With Snapfish, you can create a book for every occasion-weddings, birthday celebrations, holidays, and family vacations. I am participating in Snapfish’s “Your Creative Lens of Life” Campaign. I am going to create a special photo book, but I need your help on deciding what to make my book about. My book is going to be judged (against 9 other books) on it’s creativity and if my book is the winner the first 100 commenters on this post will receive $100 credit to Snapfish. Yay!

So what should my book be about? Should I make a book about baby Caleb’s birth, his first 2 months, my past travels, or my recipes? Please help! I can’t wait to hear your suggestions. I am excited to get started on my special photo book! Thanks for your help!

  1. anything you do to help you remember your memories/thoughts and thrills will be worth the time. the books will be priceless to you all through time. have fun, and share the finished results if you can!!
    good luck!

  2. What about documenting your pregnancy cravings? I think it is More original than documenting marriage, birth, etc. even though Calen is cute as can be! Combine it with recipes, ultrasound pics and brief notes about how you were feeling or what you were thinking about would be super cute and a nice keepsake.

  3. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of these ideas…..the pregnancy cravings idea is really unique and not something that typically is remembered. I’d start there!

  4. Your recipes would be great – could be a great keepsake for your son & his own family one day. Of course, a book about him would be pretty cool, too. 🙂

  5. I think a photo book of your 12 favorite recipes of the past year. You could a include a story with each and the reason why. You could also add your 12 favorite, must have baking tools.
    Good luck!

  6. I think you should make an album starting with the 1st picture you have of your pregnancy up to the present time. This would be a great gift for your baby in future years!!

  7. I definately think it should be about your favorite recipes sprinkled with pics of your family ….. that’s what you are all about!

  8. I vote for a “Welcome to our Family” book! Each page could be of family members/close friends welcoming Caleb to your family–it would take a little extra work to get input from everyone, but what a treasure for him!

  9. I would make an alphabet book by taking pictures of the alphabet in everyday objects. Kids could help out with this. For example, you may find a cloud in the shape of a T, or a puddle in the shape of a 0, or a H in a fence. Then, I would have my son stand in the picture somewhere holding up a letter card for the corresponding letter. Do this for every letter in the alphabet!

  10. What about a book FOR Caleb about the important people/things in his life? Then when he needs some entertainment, you could say “who’s this? what’s that?”
and he could identify the photos.
Congrats, by the way. I just had my first baby in November, and I’ve taken HUNDREDS of photos already…they change so much so fast!

  11. I think your food/recipes is the best option just because there might be more baby books than other things. You take beautiful pictures of your food!

  12. How about a book about all three – Recipes and Travels during your pregnancy and then Caleb’s first 2 months!

  13. Could you do a book that combines baby Caleb and your baking/recipes? I’m not sure exactly how it would look but it would probably be unique and quite interesting, though pictures are always interesting looking back… 🙂

  14. Definitely document his birth. It’s such an amazing but busy time. You don’t want to forget any little bit of it. 🙂

  15. How about some of your wonderful recipes with some of the corresponding photos – laid out by seasons? Some for Spring, some for Summer, etc?

  16. I would say to do a book of Caleb’s birth. Make a story out of it for you to show him when he gets older. If you have pictures of your pregnancy and of course your ultrasound pictures and create something that can be told over and over. 🙂

  17. I think u should do Calebs birth. I have done my daughters and will be doing my sons in the next couple months. I love preserving those memories! Cant wait to hear how your book turns out.

  18. If it were me, I would do one about your entire pregnancy/birth journey. That would be fun. Baby shower moments, the sonogram pictures, Caleb’s first picture…so cute!

  19. I don’t think my first comment posted…anyways, I would do your entire pregnancy journey, from the sonogram to the baby shower to Caleb’s birth. SO cute!

  20. I have already entered above, but thought about another idea….is there a special charity that you are involved in or that is dear to your heart? What better way to raise awareness than making a book that features the heart of the problem. Example, soup kitchen – take pics and document the work that goes on in the kitchen and then the men, women and children who come in during the day, highlighting their faces, clothes, all pocessions carried on their back, etc.

This would work with with animal shelters and other charities as well.

    Good luck!

  21. CALEB!
Trust me, if you don’t start now it’s so easy to get behind. Three kids later and my little one is going to be lucky to have ANY pictures organized in a book about her. Time flies, make it about Caleb.
Besides, you’ll have all your recipes chronicled in your recipe book you’ll do one day. I have a feeling it will be about cookies.
