1. Sunday tradition! After church, we eat chips, salsa, and guacamole…and cheese sauce when Maria lets us buy it..ha!

2. The basement project is coming along. The sheet rock is all up and mudding is happening. We should be able to start finish work next week.

3. Our chickens are laying more eggs. We are getting about 4-5 a day now. I guess we better make this for breakfast!

4. What are your favorite plane snacks and games for kids? We are going to Florida for a work thing this weekend and need to entertain the boys for several hours. They love flying and are excited so hopefully they will be good.

Hers

1. I feel like it’s been forever since we took last Thursday off. We hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Did you see our Holiday Gift Guide and Cookbook Gift Guide for this year? Make sure you check them out!

2. Did you get any good Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals? We are finishing our basement so I stocked up on sheets, towels, bedding, etc. Grown up stuff:)

3. Loving plaid right now. This one too!

4. Did you watch the fall finale of This Is Us? I am behind so don’t tell me any spoilers. I need to stay up late to catch up tonight! And did anyone see Wonder? I really want to see it!

5. No excuses!

6. We put our Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving because the boys were SO excited. Every year, we let them pick out a new ornament for the tree so when they leave the house they will have plenty of ornaments for their own tree. Our little tradition.

7. Great price on this cardigan!

8. New this week, my favorite holiday side and the start of cookie season! I have more cookies coming your way, don’t you worry! And you can always check out our cookie archives. There are A LOT of winners!

9. Oh, and yesterday, I did a Facebook Live with a few of my friends, it was all about cookies! I hope you watched it! If you missed it, you can watch it here! If you want to see more Live videos on Facebook, let me know!

10. I want this for dinner.

11. This is a must in my makeup bag!

12. I have to make this for Christmas.

13. This weekend, we are going to Florida for a quick trip! We are teaming up with Chef Art Smith (Oprah’s chef, no big deal) on a project. It is going to be fun so follow along on Instagram!

  1. We saw Wonder last weekend — super cute, feel good movie….but take your own personal box of Kleenex! And take your boys — it’s an excellent tool to teach acceptance and tolerance.

  2. Three things:
    1. I love the updates on the basement project! My husband and I are also finishing our basement right now… it has been slow going, though, as we work in the evenings! Finish work right now.
    2. I haven’t watched This Is Us yet, either! LOVE that show!
    3. I really enjoyed watching the Facebook Live video. It was over my lunch (CST) so it was perfect timing and a nice interactive break from work.
    4. I now also have to make that fruit tree for Christmas! How cool.

    1. Forgot to add… I did buy a Jut Made Board based on your gift guide recommendation. Gifting it to myself, though, for our pantry. Now I just can’t wait for it to get here!

  3. Travelling with children can fun or awful. I travelled a great deal alone with my boys. My best advise is to pack a spare set of clothes in each child’s backpack. Nothing worse than a soaked shirt from a catastrophic spill! Include a plastic bag just in case. Bring food for your boys, airport food is expensive and don’t count on ANYTHING to eat from the air carrier. If you are in first class, no problem. Bring small toys, and colouring books or devices to play their favourite tunes or games.
Explain to them about waiting, you do a bunch of it when flying, security checks can be scary so a talk about that might be helpful.
    HAVE FUN! 🙂

  4. Um…cheese sauce rules with chips and salsa! I just can’t seem to get in the holiday spirit yet…too hot here and just too early…I do need to watch the cookie video.

  5. hey y’all- great list! My husband and I bought a tree at Lowe’s on black friday and it was half off! yay $35 bucks for a 6.5ft tree. Y’all have fun in Florida.

  6. That is such a great tradition for your boys with the ornaments, my Grandma did this when we were growing up and they are my most prized ones as we decorate the tree every year, and now I do the same thing for my kids, the tree is getting pretty full!

  7. I have been in Florida this week. We ate at Chef Art’s Homecoming at Disney Springs. I’ll be interested to see your project. Have fun!

  8. Art Smith?!?!  I love him!  hubby and I had reservations at homecoming in October but our trip was canceled due to local wildfires. We rescheduled for next week. I desperately want to try his fried chicken, ham biscuits and oh my word, that hummingbird cake!! Have a great time!

  9. We started the new ornament every year for each child when Heather was born (she’s 42). It was wonderful but not one of our five children have taken ANY of their ornaments yet! I guess you have to make that part of the “leaving home” commitment.
