1. Last week we went to Monterey, California. Caleb loves parks and we found a really fun park, The Dennis the Menace Park. There were lots of slides and Caleb went up and down every single one. He’s an animal! Caleb also got to play with his cousin. We went to the beach, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and played lots of hide and seek.

2. Caleb loved the seals. He kept yelling SEAL, SEAL! He even tried to chase one down.

3. How Animals Eat Their Food.

5. Maria is obsessed with high school TV dramas. Friday Night Lights, One Tree Hill, Dawson’s Creek-I don’t get it. She picked out a new show for us to watch, Freaks and Geeks. I thought it was going to be another lame high school show, but it’s actually funny.

1. I am not eating sugar this week, only fruit, and so far so good. I stocked our fridge full of veggies and we have been making lots of veggie loaded meals. It’s been easier than I thought. I just hope my cookies aren’t mad at me. I feel like I’ve abandoned my best friends. I will be back to cookie baking and sampling next week:) And I still posted a killer cookie recipe for all of you this week. We don’t all need to be deprived!

2. I really haven’t had sugar withdrawals this week, but I did have big time Instagram withdrawals. My Instagram account was down for almost two full days and I was completely lost! I guess I am kind of addicted.

3. Making Springtime Crockpot Minestrone for dinner. Thanks Jess!

4. Currently reading and loving Marina’s new cookbook The Yummy Mummy Kitchen. It’s a gorgeous book and the recipes are simple and healthy. I’ve bookmarked a ton! Check it out!

5. It snowed this week. Our tulips are very sad and so am I. 🙁

6. Nutella Crunch French Toast-a reason to get out of bed in the morning!

7. Love this post about Nutrition in Produce. The posters are super cool too!

8. Yesterday, I was bored out of my mind on the elliptical so I turned on Clueless. It took me back to my Junior High days. I was a total Cher wannabe! Nice stems:) Oh, good times!

9. I am in love with this nursery. So cute! {UPDATE-this is not an announcement. We’ve gotten a few questions:) I just love the nursery! Caleb loves elephants and I wish it was HIS nursery:)}

10. I am speaking at SNAP conference next week. Are you going?

  1. I was in Montrey last week too! I just love it there! Love the movie Clueless, gosh it’s been forever since I have seen it!!

  2. DVDs like Clueless while working out is one of the best things ever. Before you know it the time is up but really I would keep going just to see the rest.

  3. I saw that video of the guy acting like different animals and was cracking up. Too funny. As for the TV shows you listed, I agree that some can be a bit over the top, but Friday Night Lights… oh, that show is too good. Wish I could go back and experience it again for the first time. And welcome to Freaks and Geeks! It’s so easy to get sucked into that.

  4. I too, was reliving my younger days when forced to run on the treadmill due to inclement weather. I was watching episode after episode of Sex and the City. I remember thinking that it doesn’t seem like the show was on THAT long ago, but the clothes are so dated! Then I checked production dates – 1998 to 2004. Ok, it WAS a while ago…
Anyway, I was thinking the same thing as Nana Phyllis regarding the nursery!
Thanks for the link to the Crock Pot Minestrone. I will definitely be making that this weekend.
We enjoyed your Lazy Stuffed Shells recipe last night – my husband and 11 month old included!

    1. I added a little update about the nursery, it is NOT an announcement:) I am glad you liked the shells!

  5. He is so cute! I love how much kids enjoy animals!! No sugar?! Go you! At least you have fruit!! Snow? Yikes!

  6. I’m dying about Clueless. It was on recently while I was at the gym…totally watched it. 🙂 I swear Caleb looks older in every single post. Such a cute kid!!

  7. I haven’t seen Clueless in yearsssss and feel like I need to watch it again. I definitely had a million of those feathery poufy pens in middle school!

  8. My husband and I are OBSESSED with Freaks and Geeks! It makes me so sad that there is only one season!

  9. Ha! I love Clueless! And that nursery is totes cute! And thanks for the Nutella Crunch French Toast link love! I could some right now!

  10. Thanks for the book love, Maria!

That first picture of Caleb is so beautiful. Monterey is so fun. And your Clueless post cracked me up – I think we ALL wanted to be Cher with nice stems 🙂
