1. I traded in my iPhone 5 for the Samsung Note 3. The things that made me want to try the Note 3 were the expandable memory, infrared blaster, NFC, and speed. I was hesitant about screen size and going from the IOS to the Android operating system. Now, I would say the screen is my favorite thing about the phone. A close second is the expandable memory. If you are used to an iPhone, it is quite the switch. The Android software is not bad, it just doesn’t have the ease of use as the iPhone. Overall, I am happy with the phone.

2. Frank  Calindo is hilarious.

3. It has been 7 weeks since I had my grade 3 MCL tear and I was able to make it back to the slopes. I even caught a little air. Yeah, for skiing!

4. We bought Caleb some big boy superhero underwear in hopes to motivate him to want to potty train. Well, it has not worked all that great, but he loves to wear them over his clothes. We completed our Saturday errands with him dressed like this. Honestly, I wish I had a pair to wear with him.

1. I have to talk about House of Cards. We already finished Season 2. Yes, we watched 14 episodes in 4 days. The first episode hooked us and we couldn’t stop watching. We stayed up far too late, but it was so worth it. Finishing the last episode was bittersweet though because now we have to wait for Season 3 and who knows how long that will be! I don’t know if I can take the suspense for that long!

  1. Love the pic of Caleb in his underwear!! Don’t be too discouraged however. Boys are typically much slower than girls to potty train. My son did not get it until close to three. But don’t worry either way. They all get there.

  2. Caleb is so cute! We’ve been working on training for a bit now. Kaylin’s doing PRETTY well…but we’ve had a few fun accidents haha. SO glad Josh is able to ski! That parenting challenge sounds great. Glad you can feel the new peanut moving- ah!

  3. Can’t remember about my two kids. Have a boy and girl and could have grown grandchildren but don’t. My great niece had her daughter waking her in the night to go before she was two. Don’t think I was that lucky with my girl.

  4. Thanks for blogging about my 31 Day Parenting Challenge! Good luck with it. 🙂
Reading about you watching 14 episodes of House of Cards reminds me of when my hubby and I first started watching 24 and we watched the whole first season in a weekend. Of course that was before children. I’m not sure we’d be able to do that now. LOL

  5. Just a word about potty training. I trained/helped train two of my grandchildren in the past couple of years and found the “naked for a week”method very successful. Child is naked on the bottom half/top half covered. Musical Potty chair accessible to them. Plan on staying home most of that week. It is easier in the summer when child can just play in the back yard with potty outside. A couple of accidents is usually all it takes for them to get to the potty and make music! Of course some kind of treat for performing is also helpful. Big pants for successful week is also a reward. Our youngest loves chap stick so that was her reward for successfully doing #2, chap stick/small toys went back in the goodie jar if there was an accident. Stickers on chart for successes also. Small cars might. be a reward for a boy.

  6. HA! Caleb is going to LOVE that picture when he’s older! Josh, you will be my idol if you wear some along with him. Even just a pair of red gym shorts or something. So awesome.

  7. You guys are so awesome, you always manage to warm my heart! You seem to be the sweetest, perfect family. Caleb never fails to put a smile on my face, and today he made me laugh so hard I had tears rolling down my face! That will be a cherished pic forever.
Maria, I hope your pregnancy is going well, and glad Josh is on the mend! Thanks for your wonderful blog and all of your delicious recipes.

  8. House of Cards – you should also watch the British BBC version on which the US version is based. The British version is so much darker – I’m from the UK so maybe biased – but even US reviewers say the British version is a must watch.

  9. Those undies are so awesome! We tried getting fancy undies for my 3 1/2 year old boy who still often has accidents (especially at night) they didn’t change anything for us either. Oh well, at least they look cute!

  10. If you haven’t already done this, try reading these books as potty-training motivation for Caleb:
    The Underpants Zoo
    Aliens Love Underpants
    Dinosaurs Love Underpants
    Underpants Thunderpants
    Pirates Love Underpants
They highlight the love of big boy underwear instead of nagging about using the potty 🙂
