My trip to The Pioneer Woman’s Ranch in Oklahoma!

photo 4 (2)

Last week I went to The Pioneer Woman’s Ranch in Oklahoma for a blogging event with Land O’ Lakes. Ree and I have been friends for over five years and it is always a treat to spend time with her. Plus, I got to see all of my Kitchen Conversations butter blogging buddies!

Ree’s ranch is in the middle of nowhere. Literally. All you can see is open fields for miles and miles. We woke up to a peaceful sunrise. The only sounds we heard were cows mooing:)

We stayed at The Lodge, where Ree films her Food Network cooking show.

During the day, we were served recipes from all of our blogs. They made my Lemon Chia Seed Pancakes with Roasted Strawberries for breakfast.

Of course, all of the recipes included Land O Lakes butter! We also learned about the history of Land O’ Lakes and did some butter taste testing. Mmmm butter!

We also had a friendly kitchen competition. Joanne and I were on a team and were given two surprise ingredients to cook with. We drew cauliflower and bitters. Luckily, Joanne saved the day by making killer chicken thighs while I roasted the cauliflower in butter, garlic, and chives. The recipe turned out better than we thought, but we didn’t win the grand prize:)

After the cooking competition, Ree took us on a tour of the ranch. She is a true cow whisperer:)

Ree also gave us a tour of her new building! The space is amazing and I am so excited for Ree and her new adventure.

On our way back to the ranch we found some wild horses! I had to snap a picture for Caleb. He loves horses!

Jenny and I were roomies at the ranch and had so much fun together!

Jenny and I were also Tieks Twins! We wore our Tieks on the ranch. Who needs cowboy boots when you have super cute and colorful flats? 🙂

Ree made cashew crackle for us to munch on during happy hour. It is soooo addicting. She will be sharing the recipe this year, so stay tuned! You will want this one!

When we were leaving the ranch to head back to the airport we got stopped by a group of cows. They didn’t want us to leave:)

Thanks to Ree and Land O’ Lakes for such an amazing trip! I really enjoyed my time on the ranch!

Disclosure-Land O’ Lakes sponsored my trip to the ranch, but all my opinions are my own.

  24. What a wonderful family oriented and informative cooking recipes. The Drummond’s are such an inspiration as a close family. Ree Drummond is down to earth and not phony and trying to influence with her obvious good fortune. It is now the only show I watch and sometimes twice. Please continue with her programs and family lifestyles.

  25. How lucky ya’ll were to go to see Ree Drummond. I have become a fan , her food her sweet kids and husband. Her style is wonderful. I have tryed to find out how to get her refrigerator thats wood. If you know where you can find that i would be very grateful.

  27. My wife is a big fan together we watch the show and she gets on the computer and downloads recipes of televised shows. I love the recipes she tries ad the result is amazing. I would like for her to experience a trip out to the ranch and work with Ree. Sue my wife has gone through being a survivor of breast cancer to our son being a homeless person surviving in North Carolina. Her Mother and Father recently passed away. her part time job does not give her satisfaction of her work ethics and the non workers within her work group. Her outlet is watching the food channels and together the Pioneer woman we both enjoy watching what goes on the ranch. This is my first attempt to try and give something she is not expecting this is our 33rd wedding anniversary and I cant think of anything more than for Sue to experience her passion for cooking.

  29. I was out in pawhhuska last sept.  Came out just to see your store and had lunch.  Drove by your ranch sign but we could not get in on a tour to your lodge.  Was so disappointed.and we  didn’t get to see blue eyes.  Reading your book now.  About half way through it and doing a lot of out loud laughing all alone.    My son has a summer home on Grand Lake so plan on coming by again.  I need to get busy but your book is keeping me from it.

    Thanks for the good read.
    Ramona

    Elementary. Love your recipes too!

  32. I love watching pioneer woman shows on the food Network channel.i would also love to visit her farm.

  33. Ranch Vacation with family is a real fun. Here we spent quality time with each other. Truly said, we eat a lot and on-time as well. Riding is also a fun in ranch vacation, Created a perfect picture.

  34. Loved it all. My hubby and I have been watching Pioneer Woman on TV for several weeks now – and we can’t get enough of Ree, her lovely family and her recipes.

We live in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England – very hilly (hence “High” Wycombe) and green – trees and fields everywhere, so no resemblance to Ree’s home. I don’t cook, but my husband does and, despite both of us being on “life diets”, we still adore Ree’s fab. meals and speedy lunches. All we would do is drop some of the sugars, add honey if we must have sweet in it, and go for Ree’s healthy options every time. That Mason Jar lunch for one of Ree’s lovely daughters, just a shake and it’s all done. Absolutely great. Thanks Ree. Chrissy XX
