painting week-1

Today is the first day of National Painting Week, a time to refresh spaces and get inspired. To celebrate National Painting Week, we teamed up with Sherwin-Williams to give our local elementary school a little refreshing. We are excited to share photos from our paint project today!

When Sherwin-Williams asked us if we wanted to team up on a project for National Painting Week, we jumped at the chance. We love giving back to the community and knew our local elementary school could use some sprucing up. The gym and lunch room were in desperate need of a new coat of paint. The school said the walls probably haven’t been painted in 30 years. Yikes!

We tackled the project on a Friday evening and Saturday, since school is still in session. Luckily, several friends from our neighborhood showed up to help. We couldn’t have done it without them!

We washed down the walls, taped off the room, and got ready to paint. Josh rented a scissors lift to make the project a little easier. I think he had too much fun driving it around:)

Sherwin-Williams donated all of the paint and supplies and we supplied the labor. The school selected the new paint color, Sherwin-Williams Pearly White. It is a nice, classic white!

We even had a few little helpers! Maxwell and Caleb made sure we were doing a good job. They also found the treats:)

Donuts are the ultimate painting power! 🙂 They gave us the fuel to finish the job!

It’s hard to tell in the photos, but the fresh coat of pearly white made the school walls look MUCH better. Bye-bye dingy and dirty walls, hello gorgeous pearly white walls!

The new walls are bright, clean, and crisp!

Wayfair generously donated items to help give the school a new look. The school chose a new set of chairs, table, and a clock.

Now, the children have a fresh new lunchroom and gym to eat and play in! Thanks Sherwin-Williams for supporting this project! We had a great time and were happy to help the school out!

Happy National Painting Week. Pick up a brush and get painting. It’s amazing what a little paint can do!

  1. You can definitely tell the difference between the old wall paint and the new paint…which looks amazing! That was very generous of both Sherman Williams and Wayfaring to donate to the school and of course it was fantastic that your family and your neighbors and friends donated your time and labor. I know the students, teachers and administration really appreciate it.

    1. We were honored to be part of such a great project! We love giving back to the community!
