  1. We used to make turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes every holiday. In the last 5 years things have changed. I now roast chicken and my brother makes smoked brisket. My mom brings bean salad and maybe rice and peas (Jamaican) for a side. I also do roasted sweet potatoes with marshmallows because my kids love that side. I try to pick things that people really enjoy eating. And of course there has to be all the cookies!!!

  2. Thinking of you, Maria~ what an ordeal you are going through. Best Wishes that this will be over soon. Holiday baking round 2 starts for me today for gift deliveries to co-workers next week. Round one was making cookie balls for the freezer a few weeks ago. Can’t wait to make your new Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Bark and your Caramel Corn for gifting treats too.

  3. hey girl- Great list! Such pretty snow- love the pic! Yummy food and cute clothes! I will pray for your appt. today! Have a blessed day!

  4. Also being a baker, Tyler Florence’s “My Big Fat Chocolate Chip Cookie” is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I’ve come across.
When using the Toll House recipe, when you take the cookies out, they are all plump and beautiful looking, then they start sinking in the middle. I’ve tried baking longer only to have the bottom be too hard. This recipe, the cookies stay nice and fluffy.
I use this recipe for my family, but also at the restaurant I work at to make Ice Cream Chocolate Chip cookies that our customers love.
I know you have your own recipes, but thought I would share.

  6. Hi Maria! Sorry to hear about your mouthโ€”sending healing energy. I have your Letโ€™s Eat Cookies book wrapped and ready to give as a giftโ€”Iโ€™m excited to see the happy look on the recipientโ€™s face when she opens it. I cook so many recipes from the Two Peas cookbookโ€”this week was Cauliflower and Chickpea Curry. Thank you for helping me make healthy and delicious meals for my friends and family. -jan
