Reviews of The Best Muffin Tins

1. What’s in My Kitchen: Williams Sonoma Goldtouch Pro Nonstick Muffin Pan

Credit: Williams Sonoma

I’m a big fan of both the loaf pan and cookie sheets from Williams Sonoma’s Goldtouch collection, and their muffin pans are just as great, too! The pretty gold color is what sold me initially, and it still looks good when the muffins come out of the oven. The pan bakes up perfect muffins every single time. It comes in a 12-cup pan and 6-cup pan. I like using muffin paper liners because they make it even easier, and they’re basically a decoration for your treats!

  • Oven safe: Up to 450°F
  • Nonstick: Yes
  • Dishwasher safe: Yes

2. Also Great: Caraway Muffin Pan

Caraway also makes some of my favorite bakeware and cookware, and I LOVE how the colorful cookware looks! They’re SO pretty! It makes 12 muffins at a time and has a natural ceramic coating to keep them from sticking. That makes them easy to clean, and they’re free of PTFE, PFOA, PFAS, lead, cadmium, and other toxic materials, so you can feel good about using them for your homemade treats. These pans can also withstand super high temperatures (up to 550 degrees!), so they’re great for things that need a high cooking temperature.

The Specs:

  • Quantity: 12 muffins
  • Oven safe: Up to 550°F
  • Dimensions: 18.46 x 12.99 inches
  • Weight: 1.55 pounds
  • Nonstick: Yes
  • Dishwasher safe: No

The Pros:

  • Sleek design

  • Good heat distribution

The Cons:

  • Expensive

3. Best Mini Muffin Tin: USA Pan Bakeware Mini Cupcake and Muffin Pan

Credit: Walmart

This pan is perfect for making a bunch of mini muffins — like my adorable Mini Eggnog Doughnut Muffins. It makes 24 bite-sized muffins at once, and like the others, it has a silicone nonstick coating, so you don’t spend time trying to shake each one out of the pan. The pans are also made in the U.S.! It’s a little pricey, but USA Pan’s bakeware gets great reviews, and I’ve recommended the brand for loaf pans and cookie sheets before.

The Specs:

  • Quantity: 24 muffins
  • Oven safe: Up to 450°F
  • Dimensions: 11.25 x 15.75 inches
  • Weight: 2 pounds
  • Nonstick: Yes
  • Dishwasher safe: No

The Pros:

  • Sturdy design
  • Muffins turn out easily
  • Bakes evenly

The Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Heavier than others

What Others are Saying:

Insider and people named the USA Pan Bakeware Cupcake and Muffin Pan its best overall pick, and Delish said it was the best runner-up muffin pan.

4. Best Silicone Muffin Tin: Silpat Perfect Muffin Mold

Credit: Williams Sonoma

The benefit of using a silicone muffin pan is that it’s super lightweight, cools down quickly, and is flexible to help you get your baked goods out more easily. I already use Silpat mats for baking and love how things slide right off them, and the same goes for popping out muffins. You won’t even need to grease them! But just note that the pan isn’t super sturdy, so I recommend putting a cookie sheet underneath it so you don’t accidentally spill any batter.

The Specs:

  • Quantity: 12 muffins
  • Oven safe: Up to 500°F
  • Dimensions: 15.75 x 11.75 inches
  • Weight: 0.8 pounds
  • Nonstick: Yes
  • Dishwasher safe: Yes

The Pros:

  • Easy to clean
  • Easy to turn out muffins
  • Lightweight

The Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Need a tray under it

What Others are Saying:

Food Network and Insider both named the Silpat Perfect Muffin Mold the best silicone muffin pan.

5. Best Disposable: Party Bargains 6-Cup Aluminum Muffin Pans

Credit: Amazon

If you happen to want a disposable pan that you can use for a bake sale or giving away some holiday treats, this set has the most solid reviews on Amazon. It comes in a pack of 20, and each tin makes six muffins. And you don’t have to worry about your muffins sticking because, even though the tins are disposable, they have a nonstick coating like the other pans. However, if you’re handing them out, I do recommend using liners!

The Specs:

  • Quantity: 6 muffins
  • Oven safe: Up to 464°F
  • Dimensions: 6.63 x 9.88 inches
  • Weight: 0.8 pounds
  • Nonstick: Yes
  • Dishwasher safe: No

The Pros:

  • Affordable
  • Great for giving away baked goods
  • Easy to turn out muffins

The Cons:

  • Not cost-effective long-term

What Others are Saying:

These disposable muffin tins have a 4.5-star rating from more than 500 reviews.

Other Muffin Tins to Consider

Wilton Perfect Results Premium Non-Stick Bakeware Muffin Pan

This nonstick option from Wilton has great Amazon reviews, and it’s Delish’s best overall choice. But I prefer a lighter pan over a dark-colored one, so it’s not my top pick, but it’s still a nice and very affordable option. The Wilton Perfect Results Premium Non-Stick Bakeware Muffin Pan is available at Amazon for $14.99.

Nordic Ware Natural Aluminum Commercial Muffin Pan

Nordic Ware makes great bakeware, and this pan is another great affordable option. It’s made of pure aluminum, which won’t rust, but it doesn’t have a nonstick coating. People seem to like this 12-cup pan, but I can’t personally vouch for it either. The Nordic Ware Natural Aluminum Commercial Muffin Pan is available at Amazon for $18.

Trudeau Silicone Muffin Pan

Trudeau’s silicone pan gets lots of love from Bon Appétit and People, and it has more than 4,400 five-star Amazon reviews. I’d go with this one if you want something a little more affordable than the Silpat silicone one offers, but it might not last as long. Bonus: This one also has a cute funfetti design! The Trudeau Silicone Muffin Pan is available at Amazon for $19.99.

Why You Can Trust Me

I’ve baked dozens upon dozens of muffins! They’re such a yummy treat for breakfast (or dessert!), and I’ve come up with tons of recipes, from banana to pumpkin, to share with you all. In the process, I’ve used a variety of muffin tins from different brands, and I’ve figured out what works and what doesn’t.

Of course, a great muffin pan is essential to baking these treats, so I thought about my must-have qualities for one (like being easy to clean) and looked into options that have those attributes. For the ones I haven’t personally used. I also looked through reviews and editorial sites to make my top picks for the best muffin tins!

Everything to Know Before Buying a Muffin Tin

What to Consider Before Buying a Muffin Tin

Before picking out a muffin tin, here are a few things to think about:

Muffin size: Decide if you want mini muffins or larger ones first, and that’ll narrow down your options!

Material: Regardless of the material, you should choose the material you like the most! Maybe you want a lightweight silicone or a more weighty aluminum option — it’s all personal preference. I just don’t recommend darker pans that can burn more easily.

Nonstick: Most muffin pans have a nonstick coating that should make it easier for your muffins to come out of the pan. However, I recommend using cupcake liners to prevent sticking or having a silicone mold that you can pop the muffins out.

How Long Should You Bake Eggs in a Muffin Tin?

When in doubt, always follow the recipe you’re using! In my Egg Muffins recipe, I recommend baking them at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes and then checking every few mins until they puff up and are fully cooked.

How Much Should You Fill a Muffin Tin?

Never fill your batter to the top of the muffin tins! They will overflow! Instead, fill every cup about two-thirds of the way full. That way, the batter has plenty of room to rise as it bakes. Also, to get a high rise on your muffins, it is best to fill every other cup!

How Do You Clean a Muffin Tin?

Some pans are dishwasher-safe for convenience, but for the ones that aren’t, using soap and water with a sponge is generally the way to go! Just be sure to get deep in every muffin hole. Make sure to check the care instructions for your pan to learn the best way to keep it in great condition.
