No-Bake Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Energy Bites Recipe

I love oatmeal raisin cookies, they are one of my all-time favorite cookies. I wish I could eat them every day, but I don’t always have time to bake cookies and I probably shouldn’t be eating cookies every single day. I try to take a few days off during the week:)

When I am craving cookies and don’t have time to bake or am trying to be “good” I make No-Bake Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Energy Bites. They taste just like oatmeal raisin cookies, but are a healthy little treat! The best part? They only take ten minutes to make and you don’t have to turn on the oven.

I also love making these easy energy bites for the boys because they think they are getting lucky when I let them have a treat for breakfast or during the day. They have no idea they are filled with good for you foods! Don’t tell them because I kind of like being treated like super mom once in awhile:)

No-Bake Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Energy Bites Recipe

These oatmeal raisin energy bites are made with: oats, flaxseed, chia seeds, cinnamon, sea salt, almond butter, honey, vanilla extract, and raisins. Less than ten ingredients and I bet you have all of them or at least most of them in your pantry right now!

And I know some of you are raisin haters, that is fine, I don’t understand your hate, but that is your choice. If you don’t like raisins, you can replace the raisins with dried cranberries or chocolate chips. And if you do like raisins, yay, high five, go team!! You can add chocolate chips to the raisins too. Raisins AND chocolate chips…major fist bump! Sooooooo good!

The energy bites seriously take about ten minutes flat to make. You can keep them in your fridge for up to two weeks and grab them when you are on the go or in need of a sweet treat. I like to eat them before or after a workout or when I need just a little something sweet in the afternoon or before bed. You know those times of day when the sweet cravings are out of control. Well, these little bites are a lifesaver!

These No-Bake Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Energy Bites taste just as good as a cookie. I am a cookie monster so if I say these energy bites taste as good as a cookie you KNOW they are good. Go roll up some energy bites now, you only need ten minutes!! Enjoy!

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the oats, ground flaxseed, chia seeds, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Place the almond butter in a small microwave safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. You want it to be soft and slightly melted. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the honey and vanilla extract to the melted almond butter. Stir until smooth. Pour over the oat mixture and stir until well combined. Stir in the raisins.
  • Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1-2 tablespoons per ball. Place in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
  • Note-if you don't like raisins, you can use dried cranberries or chocolate chips instead. Or add some mini chocolate chips in with the raisins.

  1. I’ve been collecting ‘to go’ snacks as my bf currently spends a lot of his time in public transport, and I’ll have to add this idea to my list! Love the added almond butter in there, it’s a shame they don’t yet sell that here in the Netherlands… Guess I’ll have to make my own batch 😉 Have a great day!

    1. Yes, you can leave them out and add a little more oats. It shouldn’t take that much more so add slowly.

  2. Yes! I even have flax and chia on hand! I love energy bites, and these look so amazing! Thanks for sharing this recipe!

  3. These look like an amazing snack for my daughter before track and soccer. Healthy and just enough without being too heavy. Do you think that they can be frozen?

  4. My absolute favourite kind of cookies so these energy balls are a winner for me! Can’t wait to make them. I’ve been tempted to try the store bought energy balls but hey, I’m going to make them myself now! Thanks

  5. I loved all the healthy ingredients in these so I decided to make a batch for a quick healthy snack (which are a saving grace for moms!). I used sunbutter because we didn’t have almond butter on hand, but they still turned out delicious. The sunbutter isn’t as thick as almond butter so mine were a little stickier/wetter than they probably would’ve been with almond butter. It was still a winner though! Thanks for an easy, nutritious, and delicious recipe! My boys loved them too!

  6. These are amazing!!! My new favorite thing! It’s so nice to have these at work when I’m dragging and need a healthy snack to boost my energy! And boy, I wasn’t sure if I believed you when you said they taste like a real oatmeal raisin cookie… but you were right!

Made this recipe just now – used chocolate chips instead of raisins (no raisins on hand) and it’s delicious! I’ve made different types of no-bake balls/balls before but they always come out tasting like too much of one ingredient. In this recipe all the different elements are blended together perfectly. Also tip – if you add the chocolate chips too soon they melt (should have seen that one coming) but they give the balls a nice chocolate-y flavor, so anyone adding chocolate chips I’d recommend that you either let the mixture cool first OR that you add half of the chocolate chips first to let some melt into the mixture and half after it cools. I did the latter and it was great. Thanks for the recipe!

I’ve been collecting ‘to go’ snacks as my bf currently spends a lot of his time in public transport, and I’ll have to add this idea to my list! hese look great! Will make them for my kiddo

  9. I’ve made these a few times and LOVE them. I want to make them some people who do not eat honey. What can I use instead? Is maple syrup sticky enough to hold the balls together?

  10. If we have a nut allergy what could be substituted for almond butter? We have no peanut allergy, but was looking  for a non peanut butter energy bite? Love your s’mores energy bites!

  11. Can you provide the fat, calories, protein & carbs for this recipe, as  I’m tracking my macros. Thanks!

I didn’t have any flax seeds but I made it without them, and it was good! Tastes just like an oatmeal cookie and was easy to make

Any clue what the nutritional value would be per bite?  Most interested in calories and carbohydrates.  My son is Type 1 diabetic and I’m watching my calories, but we LOVE this recipe and I make a double batch every single week.

    1. I am not sure on the nutritional info, you can use an online tracker to figure it out. I am glad you like the recipe.

Made these today they are incredible!!! I did add a couple tablespoons of coconut and used dark chocolate chips but they would taste great with raisins too. I just don’t love raisins sugar content. These ingredients are perfectly real which excited me and I was skeptical it could taste authentic cookie enough but wow!!! all my friends and family are getting these and the link to your site!!

These are really tasty ad straightforward to pull together. I found out that the almond butter  I had on hand can’t be exactly described as creamy, but it still came together . Thanks for sharing!

Would love to make these this weekend! I got a big bag of rolled oats as a gift, but they’re the Extra Thick kind. Think they’ll be okay for this recipe, still no bake? Would really appreciate your input. Thank you!

  17. These are very tasty! I left out the honey, used natural peanut butter, and dark chocolate chips instead of raisins and they were great. No doubt the honey would up their deliciousness, but the recipe still works nicely with only the sweetness from the dark chocolate chips.

    1. I forgot to mention in my comment I substituted sunbutter instead of almond!! Added toasted coconut for flax and hemp seed for chia.

Made these, by making my own almond butter and date paste (with tiny bit of oat milk,) and it came out very yummy.
    Thanks for the recipe!!!
Can also add crushed walnuts for variety and crunch.

    Hi Maria,
This recipe sounds delicious. Do you think I could use maple syrup instead of honey? Stay healthy!
    Thanks,

Love these! Even my husband likes them! For me, I add in some coconut flakes and dark chocolate chips and for him, he likes when I add in some powdered peanut butter for some extra protein and flavor. Sometimes I’m short on almond butter so I’ll sub in some coconut oil but it’s definitely better with the butter. Also, I’ve tried the cheap almond butter and find it’s not as tasty as some of the other brands in the next price point. There’s so much versatility and is written in my personal recipe book.

These are amazing! I made a couple of changes: substituted toasted coconut for the flax seed and hemp hearts for the chia seeds, tossed in some toasted walnuts too!

Love these! So good! I had to change some ingredients due to what I had on hand, but YUM! Def making these again! I used cashew butter, vanilla protein powder, orange extract , and maple syrup. Thank you!

These are a favorite for when I get the 3pm sugar crash or post dinner sweet tooth. Taste just like a cookie bite(s).

Love these! We use this as a base recipe and mix it up sometimes. We also use maple syrup instead of honey.
