- It’s the last week of baseball for Caleb’s team and Maxwell’s team goes to Cooperstown next week. We are all going and can’t wait. I hear it’s pretty magical.
- Who are you cheering for, Knicks or Spurs?
- Give us all of your New York City recommendations in the comments. Thanks in advance.
- Swim trunks and athletic shorts for the summer months.
- I’ve been watching the show Alone with the boys. We all like it.

- On the blog this week, a fantastic salad, an easy weeknight dinner, and another salad that is perfect for summer!
- Everything to watch in June. There are some good ones! I will attack the list after the NBA Finals! We are going to be in NYC during the finals and I really want to go to a game, but the ticket prices are outrageous!
- One of my favorite tops now comes in stripes! Love this easy dress and classy top too!
- This house is in Utah, just WOW!
- It’s time to get outside!
- Do you make a summer bucket list? Our boys are working on one. I love seeing what they come up with! It’s nice having so when they say they are bored, I can tell them to get out the list!
- Cute and comfortable shoes! Love these too!
- My hair is getting so long. I was going to chop it for summer, but I am kind of liking it long. I’ve been taking Nutrafol for about 6 months and it’s helped my overall hair health. They have a special discount right now! They have a men’s line too!
- Give me all of the strawberries! I am making this salad and my favorite strawberry scones.
- A fun summer salad.
- I love the added glow in this foundation. I also love this for a nice summer glow!
- I don’t play tennis, but I love this tennis skirt! Maybe I should start:)
- We go to New York next week and I am stressing about packing. We have a lot to bring for Maxwell’s baseball tournament. I normally don’t like to check bags, but we have to this time. I got this large suitcase, packing cubes, and carry-ons! Wish me luck!
- I will be sharing some of our trip on Instagram stories, so follow along!
I am especially interested in plant forward/vegan recipes
Great! I have lots to choose from!
Good Luck to Maxwell at his baseball tournament! Have a wonderful trip to Cooperstown and NYC with your family!
Thank you!
Cooperstown is fantastic ! Such a great experience for the players and for the whole family! Hope you all have fun!
We are excited!
Hey girl- Great list! Yummy food and cute clothes! Y’all have fun in New York and stay safe. Have a blessed day!
Thanks so much!
I saw a segmant on one of the morning shows that spoke to the NY ticket prices and the fact that it would actually cheaper for Knicks fans to fly to San Antionio to see a game! Crazy but the cost of a ticket, air fare and a one night stay would actually less expensive than a good seat at one of the NY games.
Have fun in New York. Lots to see and do for sure.
That is crazy!!
Stardust Diner has singing servers; a great vibe and good diner food. The singers are mostly professionals and this is a gig for them, so you get good entertainment while you dine.
Beetle House is a restaurant with an over-the-top haunted-house deco, ghostly staff; a very fun , spooky vibe.
Both these places are unique to NYC and My kids loved them both when they were your boys’ ages.
Have fun!
Thanks so much!
I have traveled extensively over the past 25 years; part of that time bringing six kids along to such far-flung places as China and all over Europe, as well as taking them all on a six week cross-country road trip. The stress of packing for that one nearly incapacitated me, but I figured something out that GREATLY reduced my stress about packing: All that is really important to bring with you are the things that you can’t easily replace at your destination: Prescription medications, your electronic devices, your glasses, your son’s baseball gear. If you forget anything else, you can buy it there! You are going to NYC; where is the shopping better??? Make a list of absolute essentials, pack outfits that you’re excited about wearing, and don’t worry about bringing everything you possibly might need under any circumstance. If your son forgets his favorite hoodie, let him pick out another one. If it’s colder than you packed for, souvenir hoodies for everyone! Get it? Have a blast!
Great tip! Thank you!
We take our kids to NYC once or twice a year and living in New England, it is super fun for them to see city life! We finally went to the โLittle Islandโ on the Hudson River on the west side near 13th street when we were there in April. It was fantastic! Weโve seen it for years coming back up from being downtown on the bus (Big Bus Tour is the BEST) tour but never managed to get back over there because itโs far away from most things. Highly recommend it! I lived in NYC in my 20โs and know the city well but my husband and I have found the bus tour going downtown is the best way to see a lot of the city. It takes you down to Battery Park which is great and you can take the Staten Island ferry to and from for free. The ferry terminal is a great place for a bathroom break too โบ๏ธ. Ellen Stardust restaurant that someone else mentioned is very fun. Authentic amazing Italian is at Tonyโs on 63rd or 64th and 3rd. Itโs family style but portions are not too big. Very very delicious!
Thanks so much!
In NYC ride the aerial tramway to cross the East River to Roosevelt Island. Check out FDR Four Freedoms Park. Ride back. Itโs a short trip with great views of the city!
Thank you!
Also, Venchi chocolate and gelato is soooo good. There are a few locations around the city! Bryant Park by the NY Public Library is one of our favorite spots in the city with ping pong tables that you can play at and a great lawn area. The Porch is an outdoor cute little restaurant inside the park thatโs really good and Breads Bakery and Wafels and Dinges food stands are inside the park. Both are out of this world delicious.
Thanks so much! We are staying by the park so this is perfect!
Can you guys do a NY and Cooperstown recap? We go in late July with our team and would love to hear your debrief!!
I will be sharing lots on Instagram stories. Follow along!
