Pin ItPeach Overnight Oats are the Best Easy Summer Breakfast
My classic overnight oats recipe is a year-round favorite and I love making my pumpkin overnight oats in the fall, but this peach version is the one I look forward to making every summer when peaches are in season. It’s an easy make-ahead breakfast that’s creamy, satisfying, and packed with fresh peach flavor.
I love that everything gets blended together before adding the oats. The peaches make the mixture naturally sweet and fruity, while the cottage cheese creates an incredibly creamy texture and adds a boost of protein. Even if you aren’t a cottage cheese fan, don’t worry, you won’t taste it! It simply makes the oats extra creamy and satisfying.
They’re filling enough to keep me energized all morning, but they also feel light and fresh, which is exactly what I crave during the summer months. Plus, they are perfect for meal prep, you can easily double this recipe too! I love having a jar waiting for me in the fridge.
These overnight oats are perfect for busy weekday mornings, post-workout breakfasts, or even an afternoon snack. If you have fresh peaches sitting on your counter, this is the recipe to make.

Ingredients (with Helpful Notes)

- Fresh peach: Use a ripe, sweet peach for the best flavor. If your peach isn’t quite ripe, let it sit on the counter for a day or two before making the oats.
- Milk: Any milk works well, including dairy or your favorite unsweetened plant-based milk.
- Cottage cheese: Makes the oats ultra creamy while adding plenty of protein. Greek yogurt is a great substitute if you prefer.
- Vanilla protein powder: Adds extra protein and a hint of vanilla sweetness. I like this protein powder or this vanilla, but use your favorite. And if you don’t want to use protein powder, you can leave it out. Taste and add a little extra vanilla and/or maple syrup, if needed.
- Ground cinnamon: Gives the oats a cozy warmth that pairs perfectly with peaches.
- Flaky sea salt: Just a pinch enhances all of the flavors.
- Chia seeds: Help thicken the oats while adding fiber and healthy fats. I blend the chia seeds so the texture isn’t as gummy…my boys don’t even know:)
- Pure maple syrup: Sweetens the oats naturally. Adjust to taste depending on how sweet your peaches are.
- Vanilla extract: Adds extra flavor and complements the peaches.
- Old-fashioned rolled oats: The best choice for creamy overnight oats with plenty of texture. Avoid quick oats if possible since they become much softer.
- Toppings: Fresh peaches, cinnamon, granola, chopped pecans (or candied pecans) or sliced almonds add great texture and flavor.
Tips for Making Peach Overnight Oats
Start with a ripe peach. The sweeter and juicier your peach, the better the oats will taste. If your peaches are perfectly ripe, you may even want to reduce the maple syrup.
Blend until completely smooth. Pureeing the peaches with the cottage cheese creates an ultra creamy base without any cottage cheese curds. It also distributes the peach flavor throughout every bite.
Use old-fashioned rolled oats. They soften beautifully overnight while still keeping a little chew. Quick oats can become mushy, and steel-cut oats won’t soften enough.
Give the oats enough time to chill. Four hours is the minimum, but overnight is best. The oats and chia seeds need time to absorb the liquid and thicken the mixture.
Adjust the consistency before serving. Overnight oats naturally thicken as they sit. If they’re thicker than you like, stir in a splash of milk until they’re nice and creamy.
Wait to add the toppings. Fresh peaches, granola, and nuts are best added right before serving so they stay fresh and crunchy.
Make a double batch. These oats keep well in the refrigerator, making them perfect for meal prep and easy grab-and-go breakfasts throughout the week.
How to Store
Store the overnight oats in an airtight container or mason jar in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Stir before serving, adding a splash of milk if needed to loosen the oats. Add fresh toppings just before eating for the best texture
