peanut butter banana honey cookies

It is officially fall and we are ready for comfort foods. My favorite comfort food of all time is a peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwich on whole wheat bread. I recently created a peanut butter, banana, and honey cookie, inspired by my favorite comfort food. If you like peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwiches, you will adore these cookies.

I know peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwiches are simple, but there is something special about them.  They are delicious, wholesome, and bring me back to my childhood. When I was younger, I loved making my own peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwiches so I could squeeze the golden honey bear. Of course, I always made a sticky mess, but I didn’t mind because I got to lick my fingers:) I was precise in my banana placing, I wanted a slice of banana in every bite. I carefully lined them up across the bread that had been slathered with creamy peanut butter and drizzled with sweet honey. I always cut my sandwiches in half and savored every bite.

Peanut butter, banana, and honey cookies have the same comforting flavors as the sandwich. These cookies are hearty and scrumptious. The peanut butter honey glaze takes these cookies from great to grand! I could eat the glaze by the spoonful or maybe even the bowl:)

I will continue to enjoy my favorite sandwich, but peanut butter, banana, and honey cookies are a new favorite comfort food.

  1. I made these today, the flavor was amazing! But the texture was very fluffy and cakey, which I really don’t like in a cookie… any tips on making it chewier? Or did I just do something wrong? I followed your ingredients and directions to a T!

    1. Sorry you didn’t care for the texture. If you want to make it chewier, you can try reducing the flour and adding more oats. The banana makes the cookie very moist and cakey though.

    2. Thanks for the quick response, I’m sorry I didn’t care for the texture, too. But it’s just personal preference, and like I said the flavor was amazing! πŸ™‚

  2. Yum! These are on my list for sure, as that’s a favorite combo of mine as well. When I was pregnant with my daughter I think pb/banana/honey plus cream cheese, on a whole wheat bagel, was all I ate for weeks at one point.

  3. I love peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwiches and was SO happy when I found an on-campus spot that made them when I was in college. I went there a few too many times πŸ™‚ And it’s so true that adding honey to a peanut butter cookie makes it SOO much better. I don’t make pb cookies without it anymore!

  4. These cookies of yours sound so good. I’ll have to try them, especially since I have all the ingredients in my kitchen. About how much banana will I need – is it one cup?

  5. These sound so good! I’ve had PB and banana and PB and honey but never all three – can’t wait to try that! The cookies sound great – hope they are good with whole-wheat flour!

  6. I love the idea of this recipe! I plan on making them this weekend using chunky peanut butter in place. and as Lisa has said- how much banana is needed?

    1. Chunky peanut butter would be great too! I used one large banana-about one cup. I made a note in the recipe. Thanks!

  7. These cookies are super good! I just made them this afternoon. They were easy and quick to make. I’ll definitely be making these again.

  8. Bananas will definitely pair these peanut butter cookies perfectly! It will be the best if you drizzle some chocolate syrup to make things wilder! LOL. Thanks a lot for sharing the recipe! My son here beside me is getting really hungry. he wants me to make some for him today. LOL

  9. That’s funny, I was just sitting here eating a dry and crumbly peanut butter cookie from a shop near my office and thinking about what a waste of calories it is! These look so much better, and the banana gives a low-fat moistness. Love it!

  10. Those three ingredients, banana, peanut butter and honey are truly a great combination. I should try this one to know what your recipe really tastes. Thanks for sharing. If my kids love these cookies then I will be baking some of these for our family reunion.

  11. So excited to try this!! I LOVE peanut butter and honey..and bananas! I am planning on making these for Thanksgiving at my boyfriends house for his whole family this year. I know they will be great!
