Summer Outdoor Dinner Party

Summer Outdoor Dinner Party on

We recently hosted a summer outdoor dinner party and today we are inviting you all to attend! We wish you could have all been seated at the table with us, but we hope you enjoy the photos. I love summertime and it was fun to kick off the season with good friends and food.

Dinner Party Invitations on

We made the invitations out of brown paper bags. I have horrible handwriting so my friend Mindy came to the rescue. They turned out super cute! I rolled the invitations up with twine and added a purple flower for color.

Josh hung outdoor lights and made a shade cover to keep the patio cool and cozy.

We set the table with a neutral tablecloth, white dishes, and drumstick allium flowers. Josh also cut tree trunk rounds that we placed down the center of the table to create a rustic runner.

Dinner Party Menu on Brown Paper Bags on

Each place setting had a Venice paisley napkin and menu. We wrote the menu on brown paper bags to match the invitations. We added a sprig of fresh mint for a fresh touch…and to keep the menus from blowing away:)

The menu included the following: Sabra Hummus, Babaganoush, and Veggies with Grilled Pita Bread, Watermelon, Feta, & Mint Salad, Green Salad with Blueberries, Peaches, Almonds, & Raspberry Vinaigrette, Mediterranean Couscous Salad, Greek Grilled Chicken Skewers & Veggie Kebabs, and Deep Dish Chocolate Mint Cookies with Chocolate Mint Ice Cream.

DIY Chalkboard for dinner parties on

We took an old piece of wood and painted it with chalkboard paint to create a sign for the party. We hung it over the food table. I love this quote!

We served World Market sodas and they were a hit! I love the Blood Orange!

We also had lemon water. The Blue Glass Yorkshire Dispenser is perfect for summer parties!

Fun straws!

The drink table!

Sipping away!

Dinner time!

Outdoor dinner party on the patio on

I love our patio space! The chairs and green stool are from World Market and Josh made the Raised Herb Garden.

We had such a great time at our Summer Outdoor Dinner Party! It was great to share a night of good food, conversation, and laughter with friends. I told Josh I want to have an outdoor dinner party every weekend. It was so much fun!

Make sure you come back and visit this week-you don’t want to miss the recipes!

Disclosure-World Market provided some of the items for our party, but our opinions are our own. We love that store and shop there all of the time.

  1. Maria, I absolutely love every single thing about this. I hope you don’t mind if I totally copy it. One thing, though — can I borrow Josh to hang the canopy and lights and to cut the log slices? ;0)

  2. Everything looks beautiful. I love World Market, sadly I can only visit online or when I visit FL. They don’t have stores in my state.

  3. Everything looks great! I have the umbrella like your napkins and I love it. I may have to get the napkins also. Looking forward to the recipes. The salad with blueberries looks wonderful!

  4. WOW! This is the most fabulous party I’ve ever seen! I love the table, food, drinks, lights…all of it! Can you come throw a party at my house? And I love World Market! They have the best stuff. Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to see the recipes!

  5. Where did you get your FUN straws?!
Love outdoor dinner parties and romantic outdoor lights. Everything looked beautiful! I bet you wished it would never end…

  6. Wow! Everything looks just perfect. Love the chalk board. And the salad with the peaches looks so good! I have terrible handwriting too 🙂

  7. What a fabulous looking party! I love everything about it. Did you get the pink glasses at World Market? They remind me of pink depression glass. I’d love to know if they are available anywhere! Thanks for sharing your wonderful decorating ideas, and I’m looking forward to the recipes!

  8. I love how this turned out! I’m planning a nice outdoor sit down dinner right now. I’m shooting for July but have already ordered the wine from an online wine store. I’m getting a few different types of wine for cheese pairing as an appetizer. Slightly cliche, but I absolutely love it.

  9. This is amazing! I love all of the attention to detail!
Did you grill the chicken ahead of time? I would love to know how you handled that one as we are planning a summer party and would like to get as much done ahead of time as possible.
