Oreo White Chocolate Pudding Peppermint Cookies Recipe

If you are taking plates of cookies to your neighbors, friends, and family, you have to add Oreo White Chocolate Pudding Peppermint Cookies. They will add some holiday bling to your plate:)

Oreo White Chocolate Pudding Peppermint Cookies Recipe

First, I started with Winter Oreos. I wanted to use the red Oreos to bring some holiday cheer to the cookies. If the red weirds you out or if you can’t find them, you can use regular Oreos. The cookies will still be tasty:)

The secret ingredient in these cookies is the White Chocolate Pudding Mix. It gives the cookies a nice flavor and it keeps the cookies super soft. If you can’t find white chocolate pudding mix, you can use vanilla. I’ve never had a problem finding white chocolate though!

I also added in chopped candy canes and white chocolate chips! Look at that pretty dough. It was hard not to eat:)

The cookies baked up beautifully! They taste like Christmas wrapped up in a cookie! I love the peppermint addition and the red Oreos really added some fun color!

  1. No criticism of the recipe, but I’m just sayin’, that those oreos look gross. Think of how many artificial ingredients are in those.

    1. I believe Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods both sell healthier versions of peppermint sandwich cookies that could be substituted.

    2. Phooey! I know it’s been a long time since this was posted, but so unnecessary. Just sayin’.

    3. Good thing you’re not being forced to eat or make them! Unnecessary comment, geez.

  2. I can only imagine how soft and chewy these babies are with that pudding mix in there! These may be some of the perfect Christmas cookies I have seen in my life. Now if they would only get into my belly….

  3. What a great idea! Thanks for much for the idea! These have so many yummy ingredients, and the pudding would make them even lovlier! I made chocolate chip and candy cane cookies this morning…..the candy cane bits that ran out while cooking were so stretchy…it was awesome!

  4. These look sooo fun! My boys (4 &2) will love making these! Can you say approximately how many oreos and candy canes you used? @Caroline above, seriously with the artificial flavors?! It’s an oreo!! Does it matter if it’s white or red, I’m sure either is filled with loads of artificial unhealthy stuff!

    1. I should of paid attention. I only measured after I chopped. Maybe a row of Oreos and 5 or 6 large candy canes??

  5. Oh goodness, I must take these to a Christmas celebration at our church next Sunday. They’ll be scarfed up in no time. Pinned!

  6. I love these soft, chocolaty Christmas cookies, Maria! You always come up with such creative combinations!

  7. I made these this morning and used chocolate pudding mix instead of the white chocolate, for an extra shot of chocolate, with regular oreos (holiday ones all sold out) and the white chocolate chips and candy canes, and they turned out so good! Thanks for the recipe!!!

  8. I made these cookies this morning because my husband loves peppermint bark and Oreos and cookies and, well pretty much everything in this cookie. I couldn’t find holiday Oreos so used regular but the little flecks of candy cane still made them so very pretty. They are super soft but the brown sugar makes the edges a bit chewy and the candy cane is a perfect amount- not overwhelming- and they kind of melt and then reharden to an almost toffee like texture. These are probably the best cookies I’ve ever made. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

  9. Love this recipe. I couldn’t find the white chocolate pudding so i used a cheese cake pudding and instead of the peppermint sticks i used white chocolate peppermint chunks (Hersheys Holiday Bar) and used Whole Wheat Flour. This was my first time baking ever and i will for sure do it again.

  10. I made these and I had a hard time getting them to remove from the cookie sheet and then they were hard around the edges. Husband said epic failure but the kids like them. I doubled the recipe for a cookie exchange and I decided after two sheet I was done. I packaged the left over dough and took it to a friend who bakes a lot more than I do to see if it worked out for her. Hoping she could salvage the cookies for the exchange!

  11. These look delicious!!! I have a bag of those Peppermint Crunch baking chips (Andes) I think I will use!!

  12. I made these for our Christmas dinner at our church and they were a big hit. I used parchment paper and had no trouble removing the cookies after letting them sit for a minute or two after coming out of the oven. It is seldom that I really love a recipe exactly as stated but this one was perfect. Thank you so much for all the kudos I received for this baking effort!

  13. Wow. These cookies are seriously the most amazing thing I have ever put into my mouth. These are definitely a keeper, I will be making these every winter from now on! Thanks for sharing!

  14. I know these are a year old on the blog but I just made them today! Yum yum yum! Here’s a hint that I found helpful – after spooning on the cookie sheet take a chip or two of the chopped peppermint candy and put on the top. That gives a pretty look (and I think maybe what Maria did. Oh, and the person who wasn’t criticizing the recipe but wanted to note the artificial ingredients — I think there are ‘clean eating’ websites you may want to visit and not put a negative comment on the ones you don’t agree with. Really??

  15. I’m going to make these, but omit the candy cane, reduce the white chocolate chips, and use the andes white peppermint chips instead, that will make them less sticky (and i dont like crunchy bits in my cookies) 🙂

  16. WOW! These are amazing! I have my second tray in the oven and they are wonderful. They keep their shape really well, they don’t spread all over the pan during baking. The flavor is perfect and the texture is incredible. I wonder how this would be using the Peppermint Oreo flavor 🙂 Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

  17. I think that these are some of the prettiest cookies I have EVER seen!!! They are so beautifully festive and I am thinking of adding them to my Christmas goodie baskets! I cannot wait to make them!!

  18. Hi, I’m looking forward to making these, but can only find fat-free/sugar-free white chocolate pudding mix here in Canada. The package makes the same amount of servings once milk is added, but the powder weighs a lot less. Should I just use more powder to match the weight listed, or will the fat-free/sugar-free aspect ruin it? Thanks!

  19. Just made these tonight to test them out before Christmas and they were super yummy! I substituted the winter Oreo red one with the Thin Oreo” because I hate all that yucky inside Oreo filling. I added just a dash more crushed candy cane to give the cookies that sprinkle of red color. The cookie is so festive and has a nice peppermint and white chocolate flavor. I highly recommend making these for the holidays!

  20. I would like to know if these can be stored in the freezer, and for how long? I am making these for Christmas this year and thank you for the recipe; I have not made them yet but am sure they will taste delicious! ( I like to eat cookie dough too 🙂 )

  21. This might be a stupid question – but do you make the pudding mix into pudding and add that to the cookies? Or do you just add the dry pudding mix into the cookie batter?

  22. I love this recipe! I’ve made this for the last 3 years and it’s a hit. I’ve added different addons to the basic dough (pecans and dark choc; choc oreos and dark choc; peppermint bark and oreos) and it’s amazing. Thanks so much for introducing me to this recipe!

  23. I made these tonight. The dough was so dry; is there not supposed to be any other liquid in the mix besides the butter and two eggs? The cookies had a good taste but they didn’t spread and were more crumbly than soft, and definitely looked nothing like the cookies pictured here. Any advice?

    1. Yes, you can roll the cookies into balls and freeze the balls. Remove from freezer and bake. They will take a few extra minutes since the dough is frozen.

  24. These have become my holiday cookies that everyone asks for. I started sticking up on winter Oreos. I also throw inn Andes peppermint chips just to give it more peppermint flavor. Awesome cookies

I made these today, they were quite good and will make it into my regular Christmas cookie rotation! I did think the dough was a bit sparse and crumbly, so next time I think I will add a teaspoon or two of milk and also add in a little less Oreo, chips and candy cane. So pretty out of the oven for sure!

  26. These are amazing! I altered the recipe a bit: I bought two 1.0oz boxes of the white choc pudding mix not realizing that I needed 3.4oz. I was afraid the recipe wouldn’t turn out right but it did! The dough was very think and I was afraid too dry, so I ended up rolling it in balls and smashing the top down. Also I put the oreos in a small food processer to break them up and even though the cookies were more dusty, it made the cookies appear more like the presence of Oreos. And instead of candy canes, I used the peppermint red candies, Andies brand. Amazing! I also baked them for 12-14 minutes instead of 10. OMG – this is so amazing!!!

I made these cookies for Christmas and they were delicious, as well as festive! I also just made them again, but instead of crushed peppermint, I used crushed red hot candies for Valentine’s Day cookies!

  28. 5 stars
FANTASTIC! I made these for a cookie swap and they were a huge hit.  I will add these to my holiday bake list from now on. **My cookies turned out more brown than white. It may be because I crushed my oreos rather than chopping them. They were still delicious!

  29. 5 stars
I made these cookies for a women’s bible study cookie sampling at our church and I shared some with my boyfriend. They were all gone!! What a compliment to the recipe. Thank you for sharing!! 🙂 do you mind if I share this recipe on my blog?

  30. Well I made the pudding- didn’t just add the powder- they turned out definitely not as pretty but taste super yummy! Thank you!

    1. The second batch of these cookies are currently baking in the oven and my kitchen smells heavenly! I sampled one and they are wonderful!! The kids and husband arr hooked! A new Christmas cookie tradition has been made today! Thank you!

  31. 4 stars
I made these for a cookie swap at work and they did not turn out as pretty as the ones pictured but are still really good! I did more crushing of the Oreos and candy canes than chopping so they don’t have big chunks of anything but chocolate chips. I went with original Oreos and vanilla pudding as well. Mine were also fine coming right off the cookie pan after they cooled. Thanks for the fun, tasty recipe!

I have been making these cookies every Christmas for the past 5 years. We love them so much! All our friends request them and my husband looks forward to December all year long just for these cookies. Thanks so much for this recipe! Like some other commenters, I like to add some Andes peppermint chips as well. They are so perfect.

  33. I’m SO anxious to try this recipe! Just wondering . . . any adjustments needed for high altitude? Thanks from Denver!

  34. I made these for a cookie swap in my office. They were a big hit! I didn’t use the red Oreos because I am gluten free. But they were equally as pretty.
I used King Arthur One to One flour with no other changes. They turned out great!

  35. Hi Maria!
So far, I have made your Ginger Snaps and Chocolate chip Pretzel Caramel cookies and I am so thrilled with the outcome! I’m not sure how I happened upon your site, but it has been most fortuitous!! Thank you for your hard work and your generosity in sharing these most delicious and timely cookie recipes❤️ Debra Johnson

    1. Can you use plain vanilla pudding? I have never tried sugar free. I don’t think it would work.

  36. I’m having trouble printing your recipes- Using Google Chrome browser. Is there a better way to print it? Thank you! I LOVE your blog!!!

  37. These are a hit! It’s 2 days before Christmas and I’m making my 3rd batch. Everyone I’ve shared them with has requested the recipe. Keeper.

One of my favorite Christmas cookies! I use Trader Joe’s Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s and also a 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract and these are gobbled up by all my family!

  39. 5 stars
Iade these two Christmas’s ago and sent them to my husband’s work. I didn’t send any last year and now, people are requesting them early. So, I guess these are a big hit.

Hello! We tried the cookies today, and they are very yummy! My cookies are definitely more brown than white though due to the brown sugar. Is it correct that there should be more brown than white sugar as listed in the recipe? Thank you!

  41. 5 stars
I started making these after I found your recipe years ago. Making these each Christmas has become a tradition. The kids and family friends start talking about how they can’t wait for these around Thanksgiving! I make dozens every year and are requested shipped to family and friends all over the US! Thank you!

I’ve always had great success with these cookies and everyone loves them. While making them today I was interrupted by an Amazon delivery (last minute gifts!) and made them with only one stick of butter. I knew it was way too dry and could not figure what I’d done wrong. I added some carton egg product to bring the batter together and baked the 1st dozen, which did not come out terrible! I realized my mistake when I saw the second stick of butter still sitting on the counter. I added 3/4 of it to the rest of the batter and managed to save the lot. Great, great holiday cookie. Thanks for sharing it.

These are one of the best cookie recipes I have ever made!! I made one batch just to see if they were as good as they looked and that was all it took for me to fall in love with these cookies. I literally ended up baking 5 more batches and passed them out to our neighbors for a cute little gift during the holidays.

These were easy to bake, the directions were clear and they were so delicious! I recommend these for everyone!

  44. These are seriously maybe the best cookies ever! I make them every year for Christmas! They also freeze beautifully! I have at least a dozen in my freezer right now. Thanks for such a great recipe!!!!
