Pretzel M&M Cookies-you will love this sweet and salty cookie!

Have you tried Pretzel M&M’s? We splurged and bought a bag this weekend. They are the latest addition to the M&M family and they are scrumptious. The M&M’s have a colorful candy shell, like all M&M’s, but inside the milk chocolate there is a crunchy pretzel. Genius! I had to hide the bag from Josh. I wasn’t trying to hog them, I just wanted to save them to bake pretzel M&M cookies.

Last week I couldn’t use our oven because our kitchen was under construction. It still is, but Josh cleaned up the mess so I could cook and bake this week. It is probably the last week I will have access to our kitchen until the kitchen remodel is finished. I am going to make the most of this week. Yesterday, I baked a batch of pretzel M&M cookies. If you have tried the new pretzel M&M’s and are in love, like us, just wait until you taste these cookies. They are amazing!

I added the M&M’s to a chocolate chip cookie dough. I also sprinkled the cookie balls with sea salt to bring out the salty flavor in the pretzels. The cookies have a little crunch from the pretzel M&M’s and there is plenty of chocolate to go around. I love the sweet and salty combination.

I am going to stock up on pretzel M&M’s so I can bake never ending batches of these cookies. Go buy a bag today and get baking!

  39. T he new pretzel M&Ms are super yummy .Just tried the recipe but the cookies didn’t seem to spread like the ones in your picture. 🙁
Can’t figure out why but they still taste pretty good. I think I will lower the oven temp to 350 and skip the sprinking of salt…too salty for me but I use very little salt in cooking and baking so I am very sensitive to the taste.

    1. Sorry you had some issues with the cookies. If you don’t like salt, yes, leave out the sprinkling of sea salt. We like the sweet and salty combo in this cookie. I am not sure why they didn’t flatten. Mine weren’t super thin, but they did flatten!

    2. \
Same thing happened with me, Nancy! They were super tall and therefore doughy in the middle but burnt on the bottom 🙁

  44. Hi – I made these today and I’m disappointed because mine do not look anything like yours. The first tray got really brown around the outside before the middle was done cooking…so…I turned the oven temp down and that helped the middle get cooked but they still got really brown edges. They taste fine but I was hoping they’d look better and mine are also thinner looking than yours. Yours look amazing! I’ll have to try again sometime – any suggestions to get mine to look like yours?

    1. Hmmm…sorry you had issues. I never have a problem. Maybe try putting them on a lower rack on a lower temperature?

  45. I have made these a few times just as the recipe is written and they are a huge hit! The dough is wonderful! Thanks so much!

  46. This is a great cookie base! I was looking for a way to use up some m&ms but really wanted a chocolate cookie so I swapped about 1/4 to 1/3 c flour for cocoa powder and used regular m&ms (they’re all I had) and chocolate chunks — these cookies baked up perfectly chewy and slightly fudgy on the inside, the perfect complement to the crunchy m&ms. They were easily eaten within a couple hours! They’re amazing. Next time, I plan on making them just as you did. Thanks for the recipe!

  47. I precisely had to thank you very much yet again. I do not know what I could possibly have accomplished without the actual creative concepts shown by you on such concern.
