Favorite Recipes of 2009
Updated April 28, 2011
I can’t believe it is almost time to say goodbye to 2009. I always enjoy looking back-we had a busy year filled with fun, laughs, travels, work, hard times, the best of times, and of course tasty food:)
We did more than our fair share of cooking and baking. Here are a few of our favorite recipes from 2009.
Homemade Yogurt-making our own yogurt has saved us tons of money, plus it is delicious, healthy, and easy!
Apple Cinnamon Cookie Bars-these bars were featured on Saveur as “Best of the Web.” Try them and you will know why.
Pizza-we love making homemade pizza. Try our whole wheat crust-you make it in the food processor and it only rises for 20 minutes. We also fell in love with grilling our pizzas. In the fall, we created a roasted butternut squash pizza with rosemary and carmalized onions-another winner!
Cookies-it is hard to choose just one cookie since I created several favorites this past year. The S’mores, Flourless Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Toffee cookies were probably the most popular. My personal favorite are the oatmeal cookies with cinnamon roasted almonds, cocoa nibs, and dark chocolate.
Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day-we learned a new bread baking method thanks to Zoe and Jeff. We can’t praise Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day enough. We made lots of crusty loaves of bread, pizza crusts, and we are now enjoying their healthy breads.
Buffalo Hot Wings-I asked Josh what his favorite recipe was from 2009 and he immediately answered-HOT WINGS! Make these for your New Years party or any game day!
I better stop there, I have too many favorites:) We had a great time in the kitchen in 2009. Do you have a favorite recipe from our blog? Please share!

What a great roundup! Happy New Year!
