ingredients to make chicken caesar wraps.

Ingredients

  • Romaine lettuce– use Romain hearts if possible for a nice crisp, crunch!
  • Chicken– chop up your favorite cooked chicken. You can use grilled, fried, or rotisserie chicken. This is a great recipe for using up leftover chicken.
  • Caesar dressing– my homemade Caesar dressing is the best and I highly recommend you make it for the wraps. If you are in a pinch, you can use your favorite store bought dressing.
  • Parmesan cheese– use freshly grated Parmesan cheese!
  • Homemade croutons– croutons are a must for Caesar salad and add a nice crunch to the wraps. You can make the croutons a little smaller so they are easier to bite into in the wrap.
  • Tortillas or wraps– make sure you use large tortillas or wraps, 10-inch in size, so they are easy to roll up!

How to Make Chicken Caesar Wraps

  • In a large bowl, combine the lettuce, chopped chicken, Caesar dressing, Parmesan cheese, and croutons.
  • Use tongs to toss well. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Taste and add more dressing, if desired. Set aside.

  • Warm up the tortillas so they are easier to work with. In a large pan, warm the tortillas over medium heat for about 15 to 30 seconds per side, just until they are pliable.
  • Place on a plate and cover with a kitchen towel to keep them warm. Alternatively, you can warm them in the microwave in between paper towels for 15 to 30 seconds.
  • Place the tortillas on a clean surface. Divide the Caesar salad mixture between the flour tortillas, placing it in the center of the tortilla.

Variations

  • Add halved grape tomatoes or chopped tomatoes.
  • Chop up cooked bacon and add it to the salad.
  • Roasted red peppers or artichokes are a great addition.
  • Add avocado, yum!
  • Use a spinach or whole wheat tortilla or wrap.
  • You can leave out the croutons, but they are a signature ingredient in caesar salad. You can also crush them up so they are easier to bite into.
  • Serve extra caesar dressing on the side for dipping!

Serving Suggestions

These caesar wraps make a great lunch or dinner! Here are some side dishes that go well with the wraps!

How to Store

  • Once all wrapped up, the wraps are best the day they are made.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 6 to 8 hours.
  • You can make in the morning and enjoy for lunch or dinner. The wraps will get soggy if they are wrapped too much longer than 8 hours.

Prep In Advance

You can prep the ingredients in advance. When you are ready to make your wraps, you will be well on your way if you have the ingredients ready to go in the fridge!

  • The Caesar dressing will keep in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • The homemade croutons will keep in an airtight container on the counter for up to 5 days.
  • You can wash and chop up the Romaine lettuce in advance. Place a paper towel in a bag or container with the lettuce to help absorb moisture. This will help keep the lettuce fresh and crisp for longer.
  • Store cooked chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

    Making these tonight for dinner.
Just returned from Youngstown, OH and went to the original Handelโ€™s ice cream.
Had โ€˜lemon barโ€™ and it was fabulous!

Make the croutons! I can’t imagine this with store bought croutons. And it’s easy. I air fried two chicken breasts with some olive oil, kosher salt, and a sweet balsamic seasoning and cubed them after letting them cool. I did not have the time or energy to make the dressing, so I used a store bought Caesar dressing. This was a really satisfying meal. I added some fresh tomato cut into small cubes to add a little more goodness to the wrap, but everything else I kept to the recipe.

  3. Great recipe! I grilled my chicken with McCormick Texas BBQ spice, granulated garlic and granulated onion. One of my favorite add-ins to this is sliced pepperoncinis, sliced olives and white onions. I used Ken’s prepared Caesar dressing, as it is so good I can’t even make it as good from scratch. I used a tomato basil wrap from the deli department in my grocery store. yum yum.
